Lost Summer (Book 1)

Part 4

When it gets dark we all head back to the hotel, as we're walking James and Amber exchange numbers and then Amber gives her number to me to. Once back at the hotel we all go change and shower then we go down for dinner. 

All throughout dinner I feel someone staring at me, just like at breakfast, so I look around but I can't find them. I turn back to the conversation and finish my dinner once done we all go back to the rooms and I say goodnight. Going to my room and getting into bed I have barely laid down or I'm asleep.

I wake up the next morning to the most delicious fragrance I have ever smelt. The only person who could get coffee to smell like that was Gary. I open my eyes at that thought and there he stood my little brother whom I had missed so much over the last four years.

 He smiles at me as I sit up slowly and he takes a seat in front of me. 

"Morning Y/N/N it's been a while, Coffee?" he asks and I giggle taking the cup from him. 

"It's been way to long little brother and thanks for the coffee," I say and he smiles. 

Then his smile falters so I frown. 

"What's wrong Gary?" I ask and he takes my hand in his.

"Mom said you had something to tell me about the cancer," he says and I groan internally. 

Of course she did I think as I put the cup down. 

"She can't even let me have breakfast first," I say rolling my eyes and he smiles faintly. 

"What is it Y/N/N?" he asks looking worried so I look at him and sigh. 

"I stopped responding to the treatments three years ago Gary," I say looking down as he shakes his head in disbelief. 

"There must be a treatment that can work. Have they been looking?" he asks and I sigh again.

"Gary I told mom and dad to stop paying for the treatments and to save their money. I haven't had a treatment in three years the doctor said I have six months left, three weeks ago. 

So I'm living my life as normally as I can and doing everything I want to do before it's over, please, don't be mad at them it was my decision. I want to make good memories. 

I want to have one last unforgettable family vacation. With both my brothers enjoying themselves and having a blast myself, promise me you won't ruin this trip, please" I say taking his hands in mine and forcing him to look at me.

"I promise Y/N/N you will have an unforgettable vacation and we will have a blast, I won't ruin it and I'm not mad. I'm just sad that I'm losing my sister. But I still have James and I'm moving back to moms," he says and I can't help but smile. 

After our talk he leaves my room so I change and then we go down to have breakfast. I see mom and dad waiting at the table just as James and Amber walks over. 

As Gary and I walk through the restaurant I look around and my eyes land on Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki. As I'm watching them Jensen Ackles looks over and sees me then he whispers something in Jared's ear causing Jared to look my way with a smile.

I smile back and quickly make it to our table. I take my seat and order my meal as James introduces Amber to Gary, we all fall into a quite conversation about Gary and James. 

"They used to fight over who the oldest was. Then I would burst their bubble by saying I'm the oldest and that they should do what I say. They usually did until one day they realized I was only using them, oh, they were pissed. 

They got their revenge by booby trapping my bedroom door, so when I opened it a bucket of honey fell on my head and I was covered in honey from head to toe.
