"Hey, Sweetheart. We're here, it's time to wake up." A voice said and shook your body gently in an attempt to wake you up from your slumber.
"Hmmm. Stop. I'm sleepy." You mumbled with your eyes shut and pushed their hands away from you before adjusting your body into a more comfortable position in your seat.
"If I knew you were this difficult to wake up I wouldn't have let you fall asleep in the first place but you were just too cute to deny." The voice sighed and then you suddenly felt a pair of hands being placed under your knees and in the middle of your back to lift you up and carry you bridal style out of the jet.
"Hmm thanks." You expressed your gratitude sleepily and nuzzled your nose into the side of their neck in comfort.
"No problem, Sweetheart. We'll be home soon and you can sleep comfortably on a nice big bed." The voice lowered to a whisper.A few hours later you woke up with a start and felt disoriented to say the least.
"What on Earth? But I was just on the plane not too long ago." You whispered and rubbed the sleep from your eyes causing you to see stars.
"Good afternoon Ms. Y/N. The time is currently one forty seven and the weather is currently overcast." JARVIS updated you about what was happening currently outside of what you now realized was Tony's mansion in Malibu.
"JARVIS, what time did the plane land today? And where's Tony?" You asked while pushing yourself into a seated position.
"The flight landed at eleven fifteen this morning and Mr. Stark went out to get some groceries for the night and took Briar with him." JARVIS informed you.
"Thank you, JARVIS." You answered before getting up from the bed and making your way towards what you would hope was the restroom.A while later you were in the living room just going through the streaming services Tony had on the TV.
"Someone's comfortable." Tony said while looking at you from the doorway as he freed Briar from the leash."I had nothing to do and we don't start working officially till Monday and it is currently Thursday afternoon so, What's the plan for the next couple of days?" You asked in a bored tone of voice.
"I figured I'd show you around the city, maybe hit the pier for dinner with Briar tomorrow. and maybe today we can maybe have a chill day, watch some movies and order in something if you'd be comfortable with that." He asked while taking the spot next to you on the couch.
"I like the sound of that. I could go for some pizza right now." You said as you looked to your side where Tony sat looking at you with an expression you couldn't quite understand.
"Then pizza it is. Any favorites?" he asked, reaching for his phone to place an order. You thought for a moment before answering. "I'm good with just about anything but I'm really in the mood for a classic margherita. And maybe some garlic knots too." Tony nodded and dialed the number of a local pizzeria.
You could hear him place the order, his voice warm and familiar in the quiet room. When he finished, he pocketed his phone and turned to you with a grin. "Done. They said it should be here in about thirty minutes. Now, what do you feel like watching?"
You shrugged, scrolling through the endless list of movies available. "How about a classic? Maybe something like 'The Godfather' or 'Casablanca'?" You suggested, glancing at Tony to see his reaction.
He nodded approvingly. "I'm always up for a good classic. Let's go with 'Casablanca'. It's one of my favorites." He said, reaching for the remote to set up the movie.
As the opening credits rolled, you settled into the couch, pulling a throw blanket over your legs. Briar Rose, who had been happily exploring her new surroundings, decided to join you on the couch, curling up between you and Tony.
The hours seemed to melt away as you lost yourself in the timeless story, the taste of delicious pizza still lingering on your tongue. It was cozy and comfortable, a perfect way to spend a lazy Thursday afternoon. Tony's presence next to you was warm and comforting, adding to the overall sense of contentment you felt.By the time the movie ended, it was already getting late. Briar Rose was fast asleep, her small body rising and falling with each breath she took. You glanced at Tony, noticing that he too seemed to be dozing off, his head resting back against the couch.
With a small smile, you gently nudged him awake. "Hey Tony, you should probably head to bed. It's getting late."
He blinked awake, looking disoriented for a moment before he registered your words. "You're right," he conceded, stretching as he stood up. "I'll see you in the morning, Y/N. Goodnight."
"Goodnight, Tony." You replied, watching as he disappeared down the hallway. Once he was gone, you turned off the TV and carried a sleepy Briar Rose to your room.
As you climbed into bed, you couldn't help but think of how much your life had changed in such a short amount of time. You were living in a beautiful city, working a job that you loved, and you had the company of a wonderful man and an adorable puppy. As you drifted off to sleep, you couldn't help but feel incredibly lucky. You were excited for a different environment besides the same old same old, and you couldn't wait to see what adventures awaited you in Malibu.
