"Let's finish the cupcakes." I smiled at her and put the strand of hair behind my ear. We started to apply the toppings on to the cupcake. Kate knew I wasn't one for sad conversations so that's why she didn't say anything back. We finished with the toppings and tried whichever one we thought looked really good.
I got one of the strawberry ones and Kate got the Oreo one. Mines was good so I let out a small noise, making Kate look at me. "Don't do that." I heard her say. I finished chewing my cupcake and looked at her. "Huh? What are you talking about?" I asked, a little confused.
"You know what you're doing." She placed the cupcake down and came closer to me. I put my hand on her chest to put some distance between us. "No. No Kate. Not tonight." It was obvious what she was trying to do and tonight was supposed to be a calm night.
Kate backed off with a laugh and continued to finish her cupcake, looking at me through the corner of eyes every now and then. I continued to eat my cupcake then put the rest away. Kate got done and walked upstairs, not even waiting for me. I roll my eyes and walk upstairs towards my room.
Kate was sitting on the edge of my bed, with her headset on and on the game. I like that she always makes herself at home. I only bought that stuff for when she comes over. I laid on my bed and got on my phone, watching tiktoks until this video about halloween build-a-bears slideshow came up.
"Kate." I said, expecting her to turn around. She didn't and instead started to yell at the television. "Kate!" I yelled again and tapped her with my feet. Kate took her headset off one side. "Yeah what's up?" She turned her head towards me before turning back to the game. "Let's get another build-a-bear so that we can have another kid."
Kate paused her game and turned towards me with a simple look. She made a face, trying to pretend to think about it. "No. We don't need anymore kids." When I didn't say anything back, she turned around and focused on her game again. I stayed silent for a while until I decided to talk.
"So you hate me and you want me to die?" I dramatically asked. Kate whipped her head towards me quickly. "Baby please don't talk like that." I dramatically fell out and held my heart. "Oh my god Kate! Why are you doing this to me." I whined.
"You doing all this cause I said that you can't get another build-a-bear and make it our kid?" She let out a laugh and turned back around, continuing on with her game. I sprawled out on my bed. "He's supposed to be my baby! He deserves to be mines and you're denying him!"
Kate shook her head and continued to play the game. After that I gave up on the Idea but still decided to add a bear to my cart for just in case. I went back to watching tiktoks and listening to Kate yelling at the game. I would watch her play for a little then go back to my phone.
She actually won so she jumped up and yelled. "Wooo! Money martin did it just like that." She hit a pose then looked at me. I silently watched her before she dove into me. "Did you see that?" She asked, sorta out of breath. I smiled at her and nodded my head. "Yeah baby that was amazing."
Kate smiled at me and nodded her head. She laid down and pulled me on top of her. "Still can't believe you bought me gaming stuff for when I come over." She started to draw stars on my back. I lean up off her and raise an eyebrow. "Why not? I told you I have no problem with buying you stuff for when you stay here."
Kate nodded her head and smiled. "We can get the bear." She says out of nowhere. I jumped up and grabbed my phone, going to the website and purchasing it. She laughed at me the whole time and stared at me with amazement in her eyes. "I know a website hates to see you coming."
I pulled my eyes away from my phone and looked at her with a surprised look on my face. "You actually just say that?" Kate shrugged her shoulders and had a proud look on her face. After I made sure that the purchase went through I laid down on her. Kate wrapped her arms around me and before I knew it we fell asleep.
