THE BRIGHT MORNING sunshine peers through the windows of the Curtis house onto the sleeping brunette on the couch. It's currently 7:30 a.m. I burst awake when a pillow comes in contact with my face, sitting up quickly.

I rubs my eyes and run my hand through my messy, knotted hair. "Get up Lor, we're going to be late for school!" Two-Bit yells. Lor is one of my many nicknames. Lo, Lor, Lori are nicknames used for me by the gang.

"I'm up," she yawns tiredly, "what time is it?" she asks, her voice soft as usual. The gang always thought it was weird how she barely got bothered when they did things to her, for example, when Two-Bit hit her with that pillow.

"7:30," Darry replies. I swear, Darry is the only one in the gang who is civil. He's like the dad of the gang, always making sure everyone stays out of trouble, making food for us and making sure we're okay.

I nod my head and made my way up from the couch into the bathroom, opening the door without knocking, which was a mistake. I screech, covering my eyes and running back out when I saw Sodapop just getting out of the shower, almost dropping his towel.

Sodapop Curtis. My best friend, besides my brother of course. We know pretty much everything about each other. We've been best friends since we met, which was when we were like, babies.

I sit on the couch, emotionally scarred and traumatized from what I just - almost saw. Dallas and Steve laughed when they heard me screech and saw me sit back down. I glanced at them, glaring a bit.

Sodapop finally walks out of the bathroom, clothed this time, thank God. Looking at me, he speaks, "You can use the bathroom now." I nod, grabbing the clothes I had brought over by the couch and walking to the bathroom, shutting the door.

I got changed, wearing my usual blue jeans, white T-shirt and black leather jacket. I do my business, brush my teeth before going out of the bathroom, almost smacking straight into Steve who is obnoxiously eating some chocolate cake.

I walk past him, shaking my head and pushing his hand away when he puts some in my face.

I'm the only one who has a decent car. Sure I'm 16, and just got my licence not that long ago, but my mom had a car she gave to me before she passed, so it had been sitting in the driveway until I got my licence.

"Come on Pony!" I yell, then much quieter say, "Let's go Johnny." Ever since our dad left and finally left us alone, I promised myself I would never yell or do anything to hurt Johnny. He's the only thing I have, besides the gang of course.

Pony grumbles about me yelling at him when he walks out. Soda, Steve and Darry already took off for work. I work later today after school.

I don't even get why Two-Bit bothers to go to school. He says it's fun. I think that's pointless though, he's failed like, two times I think. Anyways, we get to school and go to class.
