          CHAPTER ONE

Volara , Capital City, Royal central palace ...

Crash!...

" Watch where you put your wobbly feet, girl ".

The house keeper   snapped at the young maid carrying a congregation of royal robes, headed for the princesses chambers.

" Apologies madame " , the maid bows hurriedly.

"Make your apologies to the robes and be gone from my presence, also grab a hold of those cranky legs".

The house keeper  waved her off, patches of frustrated wrinkles evident on her face. She turned, drawing in long deep breaths as she resumed the supervision to which she had been tasked.

"You there, she turned to the man servants decorating the pillars with flowers and the halls with candles; "Get more candles, ribbons and flowers from the depository, make sure the halls are filled with the best in the kingdom. We cannot afford to settle for mediocre..."

"Yes, House keeper Gretel".

They bowed, hurrying to do as they've been told.

"Wow; what a great job you've done here, House keeper Gretel".

A man walks into the hall, draped in a large violet scholarly robe with his hand tucked elegantly behind his back. He was dark, handsome and bald, oozing with a sage's aura.

"My lord, the house keeper bows."

" High Lord Chancellor, I am honored by your compliment and will see to it that the princesses birthday shall be nothing lesser than splendid." The house keeper spoke gently, avoiding every eye contact with the chancellor.

"Then I am rest assured";  he smiled, exposing his pearly white teeth. '"Make do with some extras, at the same time, it should be the best out of all the occasions held in the kingdom.''

"This I shall carry out, as my lord commands."

"Then I will be on my way, see ya ". Lord Osiris replies.

The chancellor was a man of utmost authority in the kingdom, having the strength to match his title,  very few had unpleasant designs for him. He was only below the queen and princess in status, but above all the  other lords and nobles at court,  which made him, an outsider to be victim of all their envy and object of their criticism.

The Chancellor walked up the stairs, all the guards whom he passed by bowed in respect to him, he did as much as hum as he passed the countless halls, smiling from time to time at the royal guards who bowed before him.

After what seemed like ages of walking, he finally reached his destination, the princesses chambers. The four guards who stood before the door also bowed in respect, before announcing his presence to the princess.

As soon as the voice of the guard faded, the huge doors were gradually pulled open to reveal a charming young woman; long curly locks of ebony hair that seemed to reflect every single bit of light from the sun, skin as white as snow, and eyes, a changing tone of gold flecked with green, she was so beautiful that her fame had spread throughout the realm, clinching the title of the "princess above Queens."

"What have we here, my darling Alora has finally become an adult. The chancellor smiled unabashedly at the princess, stroking the length of her hair as he hugged her.

"Osiris, I had waited for you all day to come walk me down the aisle, but this infernal maids took me so long to get ready. Just imagine the weight of this gown and the jewelry, she sighed, I feel like locking my doors and praying that tomorrow comes to put an end to this madness"...

It was at this moment that Osiris allowed his gaze to wander down to check out the dress of the princess. She had on a lavender tulle layers ball gown inlaid with myriad colors of pearls , pearl earrings and necklace with a golden pendant with intricate carvings on it, a golden bracelet intricately lined with white stones , and a crescent moon circlet adorned with diamonds on her head.
