I haven't been able to get what happened in Haruk's office out of my mind, and it doesn't help that Aella has been making jokes about the whole thing ever since she found out. I sit at the dinner table waiting for Haruk to show up for dinner, that Elf from earlier has also been piquing my interest, I've never seen a real Elf before, and the Elf was taller than I imagined as well, I figured they'd be about four foot tall, three max, but this Elf was at least Six-foot.
I never got to ask Aella about the Elves in this world either, they were never a topic starter until now, the doors to the kitchen suddenly open causing me to jump, I look as a few chefs come my way with a few trays of food, I look at them confused for a moment. I look to Hellen who stood close to me."Where's Haruk?" I ask.
"His majesty is still busy with kingdom affairs I'm afraid, he won't be joining you for dinner." She says. My chest tightens at this news, is this how life will be? I frown as the Chefs pull the lids from the plates, an array of meats, veggies, potatoes, and even a dessert are lined up in front of me.
"What a beautiful dinner," I say softly to myself, I lower my brows and stand up from the table, everyone looks at me shocked, but I didn't care, I wasn't going to have this, especially after what happened in his office not too long ago, he can be a king and still have time for his queen. Hellen tries to protest with me as I storm down the halls, my heels echoing as I walk.
When I reached Haruks office door, I could hear the sound of arguing, Haruk sounded heated. I take a deep breath and shove the doors open, Haruk had a scowl on his face as he stood over his desk glaring into the Elf's eyes. I almost freeze in my step when his angered eyes meet mine, but I was not going to let him scare me, not in front of company. I walk over to Haruk, his gaze slowly softening as his anger seems to die down."Raiha, what are you doing here?" He asks, he reaches out gripping my hips and pulling me into his lap, I gasp at the sudden action. I couldn't even fight him, I was in his lap in seconds.
"Its time to eat." I tell him.
Haruk smiles warmly at me before he turns his gaze back to the Elf, I take this time to also look to the elf, his face was red, most likely from anger. He gave me a soft smile and stands, brushing off his elegent cloak in the process.
"We'll talk some more...Perhaps when you're less busy." He says as he turns and slowly walks out of the door, I look to Haruk who lets out an exhausted sigh.
"What were you two fighting about?" I ask curiously.
Haruk looked at me and pulled me in closer, I could tell he had a lot running through his head, and he looked as if he was about to explode. Were they talking about something that serious? I wonder as I shift in Haruks grip, straddling him. Haruk smiles up at me and places his hands against my hips, leaning forward and placing his lips against mine, I moan against his lips and deepen the kiss. When he pulls back I find myself wanting more.
"He's got some bandit issues in his Kindom, and he's wanting some of my soldiers to come and help them with this issue." He says with a heavy sigh as he rests his head in his chair I look at him confused for a moment, why didn't the elves just use their own soldiers, do they not have enough?"Why do they need your help, shouldn't the elf Soldiers take care of that?" I ask.
Haruk gives me a confused look as if I said something stupid again, this was the same look he gave me when I questioned him about that snake. He licks his lips and runs his hands against my waist then back down to my hips.
"Mate, the Elves don't have soldiers, they're peaceful beings who would rather use their talents to solve their problems, they managed to stay out of the wars by making clothing, and poisons." He says calmly. "Seriously, this is common knowledge, have you never been schooled?" He asks curiously. I bite my lip and look down, I seriously need to stop thinking that all of my information from anime and video games will save me in this world. Back home, Elves in video games made strong weapons and had the best archers, but in this world, all they do is make clothing and potions, I wonder if they even have magic like in video games. Suddenly my chin is lifted, and I'm staring into Haruk's eyes. They had softened.
"Starting tomorrow, I will have a tutor come by and you can start on your education, I not only need a strong and fearless queen, but I need one knowledgeable, about the kingdom she will one day rule beside me." He says with a warm smile. I smile back at Haruk, a tutor wouldn't be such a bad idea, I mean after all, it's better to know everything I can if I am to survive in this world.
