Exhaustion

"Only the strong abilitor?! There are twelve of them!" Aytrix shouted at the meeting. Neo had dragged Smii7y this time since they were going on a hunt after. "I want a powerful one this time! Lightning or water! Something I can use!" Aytrix roared. Smii7y had been controlled for almost a full day now. He was tired but he knew Neo would never give him the time of day to rest. Not until Aytrix's plan was fulfilled.

Talon grinned, "Luckily. I know where two of them are. They are alone." Her eyes glowed blue, "And one will give us the power you seek. Fire seems like your type of element, Aytrix." She smirked. Smii7y felt his stomach churn.

They wasted no time in getting ready for the hunt. Smii7y and Neo walked to the helicopter with Nycta. "I wish it was sparky. I have a few words for that coward." Nycta hissed.

"Patience." Neo said.

Nycta glared at Smii7y and stood in front of him. "I've had patience for three years. I want to do to him exactly what he did to me." She spat. The lightning-shaped scar that ran up her neck and over her blind eye looked like white veins.

Neo chuckled, "How do you plan to do that? He's immune to lightning." Neo crossed his arms.

"You understand revenge, Neo." Her claw-like acrylic nails went to Smii7y's neck. He felt burning around the areas that poked into his skin like her claws were laced with venom.

"I do, but do but your time will come for your revenge. In the meantime, lay off mine." Neo scratched his neck since he could feel the burning too. Nycta let go but her glare never relaxed. Talon, Shade, and Aytrix stepped into the helicopter.

"Talon said that they are doing a supply run. Don't mess this up. I want the fire one alive." Aytrix demanded. Smii7y's heart sank. They were going after Anthony.

The helicopter rotors started up and it took off. Aytrix stormed his way up to the front where the pilots were. The flight was about twenty minutes before Smii7y felt the helicopter descend.

The area was hot like a desert. Tall buttes stood high above them. The ground was littered with dead bushes and tall cacti. Neo commanded Smii7y to go with Shade and Nycta. Winged shadow monsters crawled out of Shade's shadow and took to the sky. Smii7y's mask unfolded and he felt his ability return. The amplifiers on the back of his neck tingled.

"Anthony and Droid should be close. Try not to get burned." Neo chuckled.

"Easy for you to say. Your ability is immune to heat." Nycta said, gesturing to Smii7y. Smii7y wasn't immune to Anthony's fire but that was something he was okay with Neo not knowing.

"We can kill the hacking one he is with, yes?" Shade crossed his arms as a shadow pterodactyl landed on his shoulder. Smii7y hadn't noticed that he had two dark gray amplifiers on the back of his neck. Nycta's was a bit harder to see, but she had three purple ones. That explained her strengthened lassos.

"No." Aytrix said flatly.

Nycta pouted, "So we have to try to fight a guy who can summon fire, really hot fire, at will, and a smart-ass hacker?"

"Anthony has a weakness. He'll have to use his ability to protect both himself and Droid." Neo gestured to the desert, "And I don't see very much technology for Droid."

"So, we burn Anthony out." Nycta grinned sadistically. Both Aytrix and Neo nodded.

Shade scratched the pterodactyl under its beak. It hummed appreciatively, "Then let's go catch cinders."

Shade's pterodactyls seemed to have found them since he was confident in his direction choices. Smii7y would've flinched when two shadow hounds leaped out of his shadow if he wasn't under control. The wolf-like shadows grouped into a pack around Shade after they crawled out of the shadows.
