[The Day Of The Exam]

It was the day of the exam. The day teens and adults take a "test" to prove that they are qualified to become magic knights and help protect the villages and capital.

Y/N, Kaito and Koji had arrived early and were met with a few other people. The three kept to themselves and just sat in some shade.

As the time went on, more and more people filled the arena. Some nervous, some happy, and most were prideful and has their ego up their ass. Nothing new of course.

Eventually, some birds were let out. The birds stayed in the arena and were near everyone and clung to them like their life depends on it.

From what y/n was told, these birds hang around the people with the least amount or not strong enough mana. Everyone In the arena had either 1-4 or maybe even 5 or more. It wasn't really any of her business nor did she care. Although what surprised most people was the fact that,

Koji, Kaito and y/n had zero birds. It was a total shock to most of the people besides the three themselves. The stares were getting intense and some even murmured amongst themselves about the three.

"They must think their special"

"Tch, royals. It's stupid."

"I bet I could beat them in a battle."

"Pfft- that girl looks weak!"

The last comment struck a nerve for y/n but remained calm since she didn't want to get kicked out or anything. However, looking to her brother and beet friend..the two looked like they were gonna kill someone--nah, actually everyone.

Y/N cleared her throat loud enough for the two boys to hear and give her their attention. She shook her head slowly with a sigh and the boys just scoffed and looked elsewhere.

"If you have some things to say, say it to our face please. It'd be much easier honestly, especially if we are the main discussion." She spoke, not even looking towards the people but to the ground.

"Honestly, you people need some respect. You simply can't be discussing about beating us when you all have those mere birds hanging around!" Koji laughed and Kaito snickered beside him.

The people looked and went quiet since they knew he was right. The awkwardness in the air began to fill more. Great--what amazing work was done!

30 minutes have passed and everyone got back to chatting about their own things and what they think the exam is going to be like.

That was until a loud shout of joy interrupted everyone. A shout that caused Koji to spike up from his resting nature and look around with a smile.

"Ah! I know that yell!" Koji said before his gaze met the source. It was Asta. His head was moving everywhere to get a look at everyone.

"The little demon boy is here, oh and it seems my dear friend Yuno is here aswell"

The moment that name slipped out Koji's mouth, y/n was looking aswell. Her eyes met with the tall black haired boy and his unfazed self. Koji was about to call over the two before a swarm of birds ran straight towards them.
