♧ Chapter 8 ♧

The name shout of the next contestants caused Koji and Kaito to stop in their tracks. They wanted to go somewhere else to regain mana however hearing that y/n was the next person up--how could they possibly miss it!

The two gentlemen scurried back to their original spots with a smirk on. "Ah well, one more match couldn't hurt right?" Koji spoke with laughter as Kaito agreed in a hum. The two sat down and kept the smiles on as they stared at y/n.

"..you guys are...freaking me out. Stop with that look before I 'accidentally' drag you in the match." Her tone went from being weirded out to a serious one. She wasnt the type to joke around much so the boys stopped with the stares.

Going out to the center, Y/N and Seon were face to face yet again. The guard beside them explained the simple basic rules and that there were recovery mages on sidelines, so no need to hold back fully.

"I wish you the best of luck, y/n"

"I can say the same for you"

With the exchange of words, the match started and y/n jumped back. She hadn't really thought about it but.. How was she going to fight without magic? Keeping her magic a secret was the plan all along!! Ahhh so frustrating!!

Alright alright, I'll just use one spell only.. One spell--uhh...

Y/n's grimiore opened to a random page and she let out a huff of relief--but her relief was washed away as she got hit with a sudden attack.

"Come now, you mustn't get distracted.! Water magic: striking tides!"
Just then, several water like discs were formed in the air before launching straight towards y/n. The more launched, the more formed.

"I see, well in that case" y/n hummed, lifting her arm infront of her. Solar Magic: stars alliance, attacks. As y/n thought of her spell, several white glowing stars came from above and rushed down towards Seon.

Seon managed to get up a defensive spell, however the stars were small enough to were some could slip through his shields, harming him in the process. "What the--It isnt even all that strong" seon spoke with a scoff before casting off his defense.

"You're right, this spell isnt strong despite being an attack.. But that isnt why i casted it.." Y/n replied, catching his attention as well as the others. "No no, this was a mere distraction..to get your ego up so you could falter that defense."

"Wha-"

Before seon could procces y/n's words, another spell was activated.. Her binding spell. The star like fragments swarmed around seon like a tornado gone crazy and eventually binded together, making a rope like structure that held seon in place. Struggling to break free, seon and some others were left confuse as to how the small objects could form into a strong binding spell.

"You got ahead of yourself, dear.. Friend. And now look at you, defeated by me." Y/n scoffed and looked towards the guard. The guard snapped out of his thoughts before declaring y/n the winner of the match. Once settled, she called off her spell and didnt bother helping her opponent. She just walked away and towards the two people she truly cared about.

Eventually as the day go by, the more matches done, the more angered or happy people become from winning or losing. It wasn't such a big deal since y/n really cared for her match and her friends. The exception of Asta, Yuno and a few others as well.

The sun started its journey to setting and all rounds were over..

It was now the time everyone has been waiting for..
