ANNABETH POV

3 Sept, Wednesday. 7:30 AM

It was early for me today, so it meant my day would go normally.

My plan for today was like everyday at school, learn new stuff from only a few teachers who actually knows what their doing, note down the homework, try to go with RED to the art studio by the end of the day. Repeat.

It was pretty much like that at school, and then I would feel dreaded as I  reached home. But that was before I made up with Helen. That was the most wonderful first day I  could have had. And solely because I  finally felt like a part of something, especially after being bluntly ignored by my only mother figure since dad died. I felt better since the second day from then, and obviously I told my best friend about it. RED seemed surprised at first, knowing that the same stepmom I used to diss and complain about was the one who reached out  first and apologized.

When I walked to the school entrance I caught a glimpse of two bodyguard-looking people, standing outside a grey van. There was a man, slightly tall, bully, and muscular, with black hair and eyes covered with sunglasses. Beside him, leaning against the van was a woman. She was slightly bulky, athletic-looking, with brown hair and sunglasses over her face as well. They both were in dark grey coats like they worked in an office. Their van was in the last parking area in the school parking lot so barely anyone noticed, but I did. They looked like they were waiting, which I found weird as most people come around here to drop kids not really pick them up. I didn't even think twice about the two people looking like bodyguards as I got used to it from my own best friend being crazy rich and all. Ignoring the fact that the two people were staring at me, I entered the school.

I made my way through the corridors, looking around for RED, and then assumed that she must be in the art studio doing her 'me time', so I decided against the idea of visiting her as I know better than to interrupt my best friend when she is in 'the zone'. It was just like when I was indulged in my own architecture world. It was my dream to become an architect, to build something permanent, since everyone I love, I usually lose. I now hope the same harm doesn't happen to Helen as I had just connected with her after a while of being distant and apart.

I made it near my locker and noticed the one beside was occupied. There he was, the school's all-famous trouble king, who I would prefer to call arrogant king. I knew him from some of my classes, but he wasn't any normal student. Nope, he was the sassy, snarky and rude troublemaker and sometimes a pain to most of the teachers. I didn't know him well, just from how he shows himself in classes most of the time. Which was basically always talking back to the teachers or giving some stupid comments whenever they ask him about homework or something. I remembered in sophomore year he was continuously voted as 'Devil of the month', meanwhile I was voted as 'Angel of the month'.  Sometimes I  wonder how students get approvals for things like that.

I walked to the locker with a grimace for having it right next to the last student I'd ever want it to be by. Once I made it there, I noticed that he was setting his books in a messy way, and was taking his notebooks out. Once I was done, I saw a small bandage around his hand, which I guessed it may have been from an accident not too long ago. I acknowledged what he was wearing as I put my stationary in my bag. Black jeans, a dark blue t-shirt and a black jacket. The  shade of dark blue his t-shirt had was the same as mine. Except I had light blue jeans and a grey jacket tied around my waist. I knew him from math and ancient Greek, and maybe even in home economics.

I realized we had the same first period together as we were walking in the same direction. I made it into the classroom, with him behind me. I sat down in my seat as he did the same. He was two seats away from me in the front. In between was RED, who was in front of me, and in front of her was a guy with curly brown hair, with a brown skin tone, a Rasta cap over his head, and he had dark green trousers, and a t-shirt that said 'Bee good to Nature'.
