Ana woke up to the sound of the engine in her tummy. She stretched and felt the bed to be different. When she opened her eyes, a pair of dark brown eyes were starring at her. She couldn't believe that Lalo was really here. She even rubbed her eyes and slapped herself, only for Lalo to end up laughing at her. She quickly cuddled him and without her permission, tears flowed down.

"Querida, (Darling) why?" He whispered in her ears, which only prompted her to hug him tighter. He began kissing her forehead.

"I've missed you so much mi guapo." (My handsome one)

That last bit really touched him. No one, except his mother had referred to him as "mi guapo". He sniffled and started kissing her lips. She broke it off saying she hadn't brushed her teeth. He didn't mind it though. But realized that maybe she was uncomfortable with it and therefore stopped. They just lay there for the next few minutes.

"Eduardo, yo quiero comer tacos." (I want to eat tacos)

"Si, querida. Get ready, we'll go to my place for tacos."

Withing the next 20 minutes Ana got ready and jumped into his Monte Carlo. They reached El Michoacáno and sat at a table. When the tacos came, Ana gulped everything down.

"Someone sure is hungry eh?" Lalo remarked.

"Mm..hmm. I didn't have my lunch or dinner yesterday."

"Por qué, princesa?" (why, princess?)

Bad and exhausting day at work. And I just didn't have the energy to cook something. I wish Andrea was there. She'd have fixed me up with a sandwich at least.

"Today you eat till your stomach...ah no...your heart gets full."

She showed a thumbs up and kept chomping down her third taco. After they were done, Lalo took them to his house. It was a stand alone bungalow. Ana marvelled at the size and structure. It had a big living room, dining halls, plenty of rooms. But most of it looked unused.

"Is it just you in here?" She asked.

"Yeah. And a few of my men. They have their own rooms at the back. My uncle used to live here. It was full of life back then. He used to have over a lot of guests and girls."

"Girls?" Ana crossed her arms and looked at him.

"It was some time ago." Lalo replied, with his hands in air as though he surrendered.

"It's ok I forgive you. You didn't know." She giggled.

As they walked around each part, they arrived at his room. It was smaller than the master bedroom, which probably belonged to his uncle. But she liked this room better than any other room. She quickly jumped on the bed and lay down.

"It's nice and soft." She moaned as she cuddled his pillow.

"That's my favorite pillow. No one can use it."

"Oh, Lalo you have a favorite pillow?" She burst into laughter.

Before she knew what had happened, he was on the bed next to her, tickling her. They kept playing for some time. She got on top of him and lay down, while looking at him.

"I really love this dress that you're wearing querida. It... what do you say in English... umm... highlights?"

"Accentuate "

"Yes, Accentuates your perfect body"

She rolled down next to him and kissed him arm. He got on top of her and started kissing her. They made out for god knows how long.

Lalo gently moved down and rested his head on her bosoms. She hugged him.

"I think I have a new favorite pillow "

Ana giggled. He sat up right and started to talk about his early life and how he came to Albuquerque. She too sat up and listened to him eagerly.

"I'm not saying that I'm a good guy. But I'd do anything, anything in my power to protect mi familia. And now, you're part of it. I'd give my life to protect yours Chiquita."

"I know" She smiled with happy tears.

"I too have some things to explain to you. Marcus Pierce. "

"Aye, that cabrón who was smelling you."

"He did what?"

"Just to get at me. Don't worry."

"He's my ex-.."

"Boyfriend" Lalo finished for her.

Ana looked guilty as hell. "Husband, actually".

Lalo was surprised. Husband? His Ana was married? To another man? Ana could see his reactions shift drastically.

"We ended it. It was 5 years ago. I was 22 and stupid. And he was..." she stopped at that. "Are you mad at me Lalo?"

He didn't know what to say to her. She had hid a big part of her life from him. Sure, he has hidden much more serious stuff which she can never even know. But marriage? Boy, even Lalo couldn't fathom it. He was hoping that he was a fling or college sweetheart or a even a serious boyfriend. Never did he come close to thinking about a husband. Without saying anything he got up and left.

Ana held her head with her hands. She wanted to cry, but controlled her tears. Whatever it was, she was going to face it. She'll talk to him. With that she left the room in search of her beloved.
