I have never felt this awkward in my life as I was feeling sitting beside Palak on a freaking ricksha. She was looking everywhere but me and I was trying everything I could not to let our skins touch. The ricksha was so small that we had to sit awfully close to each other which was not helping. The tension in the air was thick, not any kind of sexual tension but emotional tension.

I have spent the fifteen-minute walk with Rishabh lecturing me about how I should not spoil this, how I need to get married, how Palak's the perfect girl and whatnot. Honestly, Palak has never failed to amuse me. Let it be the time when she scolded me on the terrace during our first meeting or the time she got me a green kurta with a dhoti.

Green kurta.

The color itself brought back many nostalgic memories. Palak said she thought green would suit me and the only other person who thought the same so was...Anika, my first wife.

Flashback

"Oh my god Roshan! Don't tell me you are gonna wear that to my brother's wedding!" My dearest wife told me making a disgusted face at my Armani business suit.

"Why what's wrong with it?" I asked innocently and went to stand in front of the mirror checking my attire. She came stood beside me and rested her elbow on my shoulder.

"This is the problem!" She replied as she motioned to my clothes. I narrowed my eyes at her.

"You are not wearing this!" She ordered.

"But I am very much comfortable in what I am wearing."

"Nope, not happening!" She mumbled and went into the walk-in closet. Before returning with a bag. "Change." She demanded.

"Please, Anu." I gave her my best puppy dog eyes but she didn't bluge. I sighed. "Fine" she smirked satisfied. "But only if you give me a kiss." Her eyes widened and it was my time to smirk.

"Wh-what??" She stammered flushing a little. My wife could be the boldest but when it comes to romance she turned into a red stuttering mess. "N--no no! We are already getting late for my brother's wedding and in case you forgot he is my one and only brother." She made an excuse moving away from me but I grabbed her wrist.

"Tsk tsk Mrs. Maheshwari! I ain't leaving without a kiss." I teased her and suddenly she turned to face me.

"Ok" she shrugged coming closer and I took some steps back. It was so unlike her that she would never agree with this easily. I was starting to get suspicious so I kept on taking steps back and she kept moving towards me with a pout. Until she pushed me into the bathroom with the bag and locked the door. I could hear her laughing from the outside.

"Anika open the damn door," I growled and could hear her giggling.

"Change first!" She shouted loud enough for me to hear.

"This is cheating you haven't played fair!"

"Life isn't fair Mr. Maheshwari now get changed." I could hear her voice a little fainter this time indicating she had moved away from the door. I shook my head at her childishness an unwanted smile tugging at the corner of my lips. I wore the deep green kurta and trousers she'd got me and banged the door again. She opened it this time a big smile on her lips.
