After completing my assignments, sitting at cafe, I thought of giving a slight change to the day's routine. I was packing up my things, to go to the police station to meet my uncle and that was when I saw a unfamiliar face walking up to me. "Anything else miss?" This might be the person whom Ellen spoke about, I thought and replied "No thanks."
As I walked through the door, there poured the rain once again. And he comes to me handing an umbrella. "You can take this." He smiled. "That's fine I'm good." I hesitated as he then opened the umbrella and held it towards me. I had to take it as it was heavily raining and also I didn't want to refuse that kindness. "Thank you." I said while also getting a glimpse of the name tag he had.
I had to wait for nearly 2 hours until my uncle finally decided to make time for me. "Athena, what brings you to the station?" He asked, he was pretty surprised that I went there and also he wanted to stress on the fact that I was at the 'station' to see him. "It's uh... the thing is I got some messages last night, it's odd, like there are so many random numbers and the time I got those messages..." I handed over my phone to him.
My uncle and I always had a distant relationship although he was my mother's only brother. I've never had a proper conversation with him and I can't remember what he was like to me when I was younger.
He looks rather scary all of the time and also with that uniform, goodness, he was always mistaken as the chief of the police.
"Hmm, doesn't this looks like your friends had played a prank on you." he asked and I was sure that it wasn't it. "I don't think so, those phone numbers doesn't seem normal to me and with all what's going in East-bore, I thought it might be—" "No, don't make a big deal out of this, and this has nothing to do with the things going on in the town, for now just focus on your studies." And as always I was disappointed at his reaction, but then he added "If this happens again, come to me right away."
"Alright." I said trying to take back my phone, but before returning it he once again gave it a look.
It was already late, so I went back home right away.
