A blurry view of my uncle was the first thing I saw,
"Are you up?"
I rubbed my eyes from the back of my palm and looked at him. "Why do you jump into things so recklessly?" He asked.
"Where is Ian?" I said and I don't know why it had to be the first thing I spoke there.
"The one you jumped in to save? He just left. Someone took him." He replied giving me a look which questioned 'who is he?' But he said, "I'm running late for work, Whatever you wanted to talk about, you can tell it to me tomorrow, I'll come home to see you."I got up from the hospital bed and checked myself, my left arm was fully covered with a bandage.
My knee was scratched and there was a small cut on my right cheek. "It isn't that bad but looks like I've been passed out for quite a time." I said to myself and left the hospital. I took my phone out and a message from Aunt Marie popped up.'Hello Athena,
I'll be staying with you
for a few days starting today
as your dad wanted me to, so
I'll be there by 5.00 pm.'I looked at the time and it was 5.12 pm. I soon took the bus and rushed home. I saw her car parked and her standing at the front door. She saw me at the gate and ran towards me. "Are you alright? What happened?" She was worried.
"I fell on the street." I said. "Fell on the street.." she repeated doubtfully. "I was trying to cross the road and then a lorry was about to crash on me so I jumped to the side, fell down there and passed out for 20 minutes." I narrated and took in the luggage she was holding. She went right into the kitchen to prepare dinner and also dragged me into a small talk. I hurried into my room right after dinner, the room looked normal like how it always does but something about it felt off, the first thing I did was opening the drawer where I stored in the two packages. The plain view of the drawer had me frozen for a good time until I started screaming. It was gone, the drawer was empty, while the things I took out from it was still lying on the floor.
"Athena! All good?" My aunt yelled as she barged into my room. "ITS MISSING!!" I said.
"What is?"
I came back to my senses and replied, "Uh... my... my... hair clip." Yeah that was the best I could think of at the moment. She let out a big sigh, and of course just left the room disappointed. But the packages I received was no longer in my drawer, 'WHERE COULD IT HAVE GONE!' I thought and started searching up my room, realizing that there was no sign of it I went down to my father's room, opened up the drawer where I stored the unopened packages, and those were there."But what about the ones I opened?" I locked that drawer and hid the key in his pen holder and went back to my room. "Did someone break in? How could it be the only thing to disappear from my room? Is it gone for good?" The thoughts kept piling up my mind, making me go entirely crazy. As I've got the habit of putting my phone on silence, I didn't know how many random messages I've been receiving at that time. I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.
