After school, Alyssa walks into the grill with Bonnie and Caroline

"His name is Stefan Salvatore. He lives with his uncle up at the old Salvatore boarding house. He hasn't lived here since he was a kid. Military family, so they moved around a lot. He's a gemini, and his favorite color is blue." Caroline informs her friends of the new boy in school

"You got all of that in one day?" Bonnie questions

"Oh, please, I got all that between third and fourth period. We're planning a June wedding."

"Okay, first of all, you sound like a stalker," Alyssa laughs. "and second of all, I better be the maid of honor in this wedding."

Caroline laughs and pushes Alyssa to the side, "Okay, well, first of all, I am not a stalker," she replies, earning disbelieving looks from Bonnie and Alyssa, "and second of all, of course you are, Lyss. No offense, Bonnie." She adds the last part as an afterthought

"None taken," she mumbles as the three walk towards a table

They talk about random things until Elena shows up with Stefan and Caroline goes into interrogation mode

"So, you were born in Mystic Falls?"

"Mhm. Moved when I was still young."

"Parents?" That one was surprisingly Bonnie

"My parents passed away."

"I'm sorry. Any siblings?" That was Elena

"Jeez, give the guy a chance to breathe." Alyssa speaks up

Stefan laughs

"It's alright," he addresses Alyssa before turning to Elena, " none that I talk to. I live with my uncle"

We knew that Alyssa looks over at Caroline and then looks back to Stefan

Caroline pointedly ignores her best friend's look

"So, Stefan, If you're new, then you don't know about the party tomorrow." Caroline gets his attention

"It's a back to school thing at the falls. We do it every year," Alyssa informs, seeing his confused expression

"Are you going?" He asks Elena

"Of course she is." Bonnie interjects before Elena can speak up

The battle of Willow Creek took place right at the end of the war in our very own Mystic Falls. How many casualties resulted in this battle? Ms. Bennett?" Mr. Tanner's annoying voice cuts through Alyssa's thoughts

"Um.. a lot? I'm not sure. Like a whole lot." Bonnie shrugs slightly

"Cute become dumb in an instant, Ms. Bennett. Mr. Donovan. Would you like to take this opportunity to overcome your embedded jock stereotype?"

Alyssa glares at him for his first sentence

"It's ok, Mr. Tanner, I'm cool with it." Matt Donavon speaks up which earns him a few laughs

"Hmm. Elena ? Surely you can enlighten us about one of the town's most significant historical events?"

"I'm sorry, I- I don't know." Elena stammers out

"I was willing to be lenient last year for obvious reasons, Elena. But the personal excuses ended with summer break"

"I'm sorry, Mr. Tanner, but are you telling me that we can't grieve for longer than a year? Especially over our parents? I get that you don't know what love is or what it means, but don't shame other people for having emotions, just because you don't. I'm sorry if our grieving is inconvenient for you, but you don't have to be an asshole." Alyssa snaps
