Alyssa sits unmoving on her bed, processing everything that she was told

“Do you think she’s okay?”

“Does it look like she’s okay? She’s processing.”

“Maybe I should slap her back into the present”

“No! Don’t do that, you idiot!”

“I’m gonna do it.”

“How did I get cursed with such an idiotic brother.”

Just as his hand is nearing her face, she speaks up, “touch me and I’ll break it”

He immediately snatches his hand back from her face, “probably for the best, considering my hand probably would’ve just gone through your face.” He shrugs

Alyssa rolls her eyes as she tries to wrap her head around everything they just told her

“So… the supernatural exists?”

“Yep” the first voice chirps

“Witches are real?” 

“Yes, they do.” the second voice says calmly

“Vampires?”

“In the flesh! Well.. technically we qualify as ghosts more than vampires, but..” the first man shrugs

Alyssa blinks a few times before continuing her question

“Werewolves.”

“Yes.” The second man nods

“And.. you guys are.. dead?”

“Nope. Only daggered.”

“Right,” she nods as if that isn’t one of craziest thing she’s ever heard, “So.. your brother.. The h-” she cuts herself off as she tries to think of the word

“The original hybrid” The first man provides the answer

“Yes… the original hybrid.” she nods. “and you two are a part of the family of original vampires/the first vampires to ever exist?”

“Yes, love. That is what we said.” The second man nods, looking a little worried for her as she kept reciting things they told her

“Okay, that’s.. okay” she nods slightly, trying to get her mind in check. “Um.. that’s cool and all, but.. Why didn’t you appear to your brother instead of some random stranger? Also, don’t call me love”

“Uhh” they hesitate, looking between each other

“We don't know.” the second voice says

Lie her mind supplies

“We have a theory though,” the first voice speaks us, “we didn’t want to be with our brother, so we probably just got shipped off to the first stranger that was picked and I think it also helped that you’re supernatural”

“Huh? No I’m not. I didn’t even know about the supernatural until you showed up in my room with no warning.” Alyssa looks confused

“Maybe you don’t know yet, but we can sense it.” the first man, Kol, tells her

“I don’t understand,” she shakes her head in confusion

“You’re a witch, Ms. Gilbert.” The second voice, Finn, says softly
