In History class, the next day, Alyssa can see Stefan and Elena whispering and can already tell that’s not gonna end well for them
“World war II ended in... Anyone got anything? Miss Juan? 1945.” Tanner addresses the class that isn’t paying much attention, “Pearl Harbor.” Stefan whispers something to Elena, “Miss Gilbert?”
“Yeah?” Alyssa answers
“Miss Elena Gilbert.” Tanner clarifies
“Hmm? Pearl Harbor? Um..” Elena speaks up, looking confused
“December 7, 1941.” Stefan answers for her
“Thank you, Miss Gilbert.” Tanner says sarcastically
“Anytime.”
Alyssa smirks slightly, looking down at her desk to hide it
“Very well. The fall of the Berlin wall.”
“1989. I'm good with dates, sir.”
“Are you? How good? Keep it to the year. Civil Rights Act.”

“Ha! It ended in '52.” Tanner exclaims
“Uh, actually, sir, it was '53.” Stefan corrects calmly
“Look it up, somebody. Quickly.” Tanner demands
Alyssa does, wanting to prove Tanner wrong. She may not be a genius but even she knows it ended in ‘53
“It was 19... 53.” Alyssa announces, a slight smirk on her face
Tanner’s face drops

“Oh, my God! You're here!” Bonnie exclaims at cheer practice
Alyssa looks up to see who she’s speaking to and is immediately shocked
“Elena, you came.”
“Yep. I can't be sad girl forever. The only way to get things back to the way they were are to do things that were. Oh, and you're coming to dinner tonight.” She tells Bonnie, also giving Alyssa a look, making sure she knows she has to attend
“I am?” Bonnie asks
“Mm-hmm. You, me, Alyssa, and Stefan. You have to give him a chance and it’ll give Alyssa a chance to bond with him better. I want my sister to get along with my boyfriend.” Elena nods
Alyssa shrugs, she has no problem with Stefan. In fact, she likes him better than Elena's other boyfriends, no offense to Matt
“Tonight's no good. Have you seen Caroline? I texted her like a hundred times.” Bonnie deflects
“No. I texted her and called her, she’s MIA.”
“Don't change the subject, Bonnie Bennett and Alyssa Gilbert. You're going to be there.” Elena says sternly
