We all returned safely from the battle, and as Badgerpelt treated Thrushstars wound I groomed Crowpaw's pelt. We were best friends, after all. I leaned on him, toppling him over playfully. He bit my neck gently and pinned me."I WON!"he laughed. I laid limp untill I distracted him. I flung up, pinning him."NO CHANCE YOU'LL WIN NOW, MISTER!"I chuckled softly. All the other apprentices laughed as he blushed. I laughed so hard I fell into my nest,whilst I fell he pinned me."Hehe...."He licked my face making ME blush. "Da-"I was cut off by screeching. I hurtled myself out of the den to see Creekstars faint outline on top of Bramblefang, slashing my mentor's neck. In two flashes creekstar was gone.I walked calmly but shoved all the apprentices out of my way as I walked to Bramblefang.
"Bramblefang....?"
"Bramblefang."
I stooped at her body
"Bramblefang!!
She was dead.I yelped in grief. Sobs rattling my body like a ragdoll. The bangs covering my left eye dripped with tears while tears streamed down my muzzle. I pressed my nose into her cold fur, followed along by the rest of the clan. I thought to myself that I would avenge Bramblefang's death even if it took my life. My heart grew cold for creekstar and I yowled in fury and hatred. I bolted to Crowpaw,sobs racking my body again. He pressed against me, whispering softly in my ears to reassure me but all I could think in my mind was
She will die.

~Chapter 10~Echopaw's new mentor
It took me awhile to stop sobbing and shaking. Thrushstar called a clan meeting and Creamwhisker carried me to it. Cats pressed their noses into my side as I was guided past, but I ignored them. I stared somberly up at Thrushstar when she spoke."We are all sorry for Bramblefang's loss. But it is time Echopaw had a new Mentor."Thrushstar breathed. I still didn't get the cold thoughts off my mind.
She will die-No this isn't you stop this!
She WILL die SHE WILL!!!!!
"Echopaw?"Crowpaws whispering broke into my thoughts. I nodded to say that I was ok. He nodded uneasily and turned back to Thrushstar. "Her new mentor shall be Aspenleaf."Thrushstar meowed. I reluctantly touched noses with the senior warrior, thoughts still fed on the coldness in my heart.He looked at me and nodded, understanding what was in me. I smiled starting to feel better.
