Danny Pov

I blinked several times. My eyes were so heavy. I closed them again. They were too heavy. It felt like I was drugged. I couldn't keep them open. There were a lot of machines in the room and I was hooked up to all of them. The beeping started to speed up on one particular machine. Then quiet down.

I closed my eyes and fell back asleep.

******************

The next time I woke, there were people in the room. I made a frustrated noise because I couldn't keep my eyes open. It's like there were bean bags sitting on my lids. The light was bright. Too bright, so I had to squint.

I couldn't make out the voices.

"Close the blinds." It was way too bright in here.

"Hello, miss. Can you hear me?"

"Yes, but I can't open my eyes. Who are you?"

"I'm Doctor Yung. I've been charged with your care."

"Doctor, I can't open my eyes. There's too much strain."

"Yes, it's one of the effects of having them close for so long."

I was about to ask him for how long but a voice I did recognize came in.

"About time you drama queen. If you want some attention and time off just say that instead of scaring us, Jesus."

I giggled as she leaned down and grabbed me into a tight hug.

"Hi Tasha."

"Hi Danny. You gave us a scare there. How are you feeling? Are you hungry?"

"I am actually."

"Ok. Doctor Yung will help you sit up while I go get you something to eat."

"Make sure it's something light like soup," said Dr. Yung.

"Sure thing doc." I could hear her eyes practically rolling.

I smiled again.

He came and helped me sit up. I sat up all the while still blinking to clear my cloudy vision.

Hold on. I haven't been able to sit up like this in months. I looked down at my belly. It was flat. Well sort of. I still had a little flab.

"Wait. Where's my baby," I asked. I was about to panic, thinking the worst.

"I'm not privy to that information ma'am."

"Where's Dean."

"He will be home shortly."

I couldn't help thinking about my last conversation with Dean. He said he wanted me to give my baby up for an adoption. Is that where my baby is? With a family of Dean's choosing. I did give him my word. I said if he helped our baby, I would give it up for adoption. I felt sad. I didn't know if it was a boy or a girl.

I gasped. Dean, he gave our baby away.

I started crying hysterically. I started thrashing. "Where's my baby? I want my baby."

"Hey, shh, shh. Calm down." Tasha walked in. She sat my soup down and ran to me. She held me in my arms.

I was crying so hard. "Tasha, please tell me he didn't throw my baby into traffic like he threatened. Please tell me. Just tell me. I can take it. Tell me please!!"

"Your baby is fine."

"Tasha," Dr. Yung snapped.

"We can at least tell her that much."

"Thank you, Tasha." I calmed down a little. Now all I have to do is leave here and go get my baby. I never legally signed over my rights. I will take my baby back, find my grandfather and leave. I never thought I'd say this, but fuck Dean. He's responsible for all the shit that has befallen me. He's the reason Kyle is dead. When he brought me here from Kunal's house, no one told him to have sex with me over and over. He got me pregnant and essentially abandoned me over a claim. Dean should have known me better. I wouldn't lie to him about this. If I had any doubt in my mind about my baby, I would have told him. I would have never treated him like this. I hope his anger and pride was worth him losing me. I can't do this anymore. I've tried and tried. Kyle is gone and a part of me died with him. I just don't have the energy to give anymore.

"Tasha, what was it? Was it a boy or a girl?" She soothed me as she rocked me back and forth making soothing noises.

"Danny, Dean will be here any minute now for dinner. You can talk to him then."

I nodded and laid my head back on her chest.

Somehow, I fell back asleep.

*************************

The next time I woke, Dr. Yung was there. He was replacing my saline drip. He came and stood over me. He pressed my stomach and multiple places and asked me if it hurt.

I shook my head no.

"Has Dean made it yet?"

"He has but he's busy at the moment."

"What is he doing? Does he know that I'm awake and wants to know where my baby is?"

"I'm not privy to that information, ma'am."

I blew out a breath. I started pulling everything out. The tubes, the saline, the drips, the blood pressure monitor and cuffs. They all started beeping.

"Ma'am please."

"I'm leaving this bed and finding the answers since you don't know shit!"

As soon as my feet hit the ground I fell. My legs gave out, but that's not the worst of it. Pain hit my abdomen. I balled up in a fetal position and screamed.

"Danny," Tasha came and grabbed me. She grabbed one arm and Dr. Yung grabbed the other one. They placed me back in bed. Dr. Yung began placing my tubs back. When he placed the pain medicine tube in, I sighed.

I turned to Tasha. "Where is Dr. Troy?"

"After he did all he could to kill you, Dean...... Let's just say he's gone. Dean hired Dr. Yung to care for you."

"How long have I been out, Tasha."

She bit her lip. I reached up and rubbed my finger across her lip that she's biting. It's a terrible habit that she does.

"Just tell me."

"You've been out for 5 months."
