S trudged through the forest.
The stuff he brought and gave to him was slung behind his back. Instead of a tuxedo, he's now wearing a Worker suit. As he walks through the large rainstorm Humans wearing hazmat suits watch them, making sure they don't run off. The Worker Drone behind S collapses tired and a Hazmat guy walks over picking them up and shaking them
"Physically break on your own time. GET MOVING!" The fatigued Worker Drones keep moving on, barely holding themselves together. They finally arrive at the facility standing large with lights and loud noises coming from inside. The Worker Drones head into the checkpoint. S was daydreaming thinking of the reason he was here.
"THEY WERE KIDS! LIKE ME!"
"S! DON'T LEAVE!" S is still thinking not being able to realize he's next. The Human behind the desk speaks up.
"Name and reason for Visit?" S doesn't speak.
"Name and Reason for Visit?" The human repeats...still nothing. One of the guards slaps S in the back of the head causing him to wake up, laughter can be heard around the room.
"Huh?" S snaps back to reality and the Human clears his throat, annoyed.
"NAME...AND...REASON...FOR...VISIT." S wipes his visor of rain.
"S" The human snickers.
"Yeah, very funny, your actual name." S scratches his hard hat confused.
"That...is my name." The human, although wearing a hazmat mask, was clearly upset.
"Alriiight sure, you want a REAL name? How about Steve? You like Steve?"
S is unsure "Uuuuh-"
"Steve it is...reason for Visit."
S perks up "Serving a Sentence." The Human snorted.
"What'd you do? Kill someone?" S rolled his eyes.
"Can I go now?" The Human pointed towards the entrance. "Sure, welcome to Copper 9, we'll try making your visit only mildly depressing."
As S (or Steve, call him what you want.) Steps through the door he sees Worker Drones everywhere working on maintenance, service, or mining. S sighed knowing that the next 2 years are gonna be hell. He's directed to his living quarters, which had a small bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen. He set down his stuff, sighing, and lying in bed. Looking at the ceiling. The Human at the door speaks up. "You start tomorrow, in the meantime look around or something, make friends." The Human leaves, the door shutting as S looks at the photo he brought, showing him smiling with T. He gets up walking out of the exit and into the Cafeteria. He sits down at an empty table unsure of what to do. "You look like you've hit a roadblock!" S looks up to see a Worker Drone with a blue coat and a blue hard hat with red goggles on top. "Sorry to interrupt you, it just seems like you could use a friend, mind if I sit?" S sighs in depression motioning for him to do so. He sits down shaking S's hand.
"Khan Doorman, nice to meet you!" S raises an eyebrow as he stops shaking hands. "And you are?" S's eyes widened
"Uuuuh...Steve....Eilliot....Steve Eilliot." Khan grinned "Tell me Steve...Do you like doors?" S has a confused expression. "Uuuuh..I mean they're a good way to keep cold air outside." Khan smiles slightly,
"It could also protect people from dangers!" S was still confused. "I guess?" "Do you play cards, Steve?" S is even more confused.
"Ooookay I'm gonna go.' He's about to leave only to think. "This guy is trying to be friendly, might as well play along. He turned back, sitting down. 'What are you planning?" Khan smiles. "I'm working on something, kind of a passion project of mine. the WDF. The Worker Defense Force!" S raises an eyebrow.
"Wouldn't the humans be a little upset if we make something like that?" Khan shrugs "Well you never know, they could all go extinct!" S snickers, putting his hand on Khan's shoulder.
"Humans have been around for billions of years, it'd take an extremely powerful force to cause humanity to extinction." Khan sighs.
"Eh, a man can dream." S tries to cheer him up. "Ok Khan, let's say the humans DO go extinct, how will you defend them?" Khan smiles, pulling out a blueprint for a giant door.
"We make three big heavy doors, close them all, and play cards in front of them...y'know to defend." S's hopeful smile turned to one of complete disappointment.
"This seems kind of cowardly...But eh I got nothing better to do." Khan smiles and they both get up walking out of the cafeteria.
