It was so exhilarating, going to a concert of your favorite band for the first time. At least, it was Sicheng's first time. Mark was a bit of a groupie, he had to money to follow Beau X Papillon on tour, and Sicheng would be a liar if he said that didn't make him a just a little envious, even if he never intended to be.

The show hadn't started yet, but Sicheng could feel his palms shake from adrenaline. He'd listened to Beau X Papillon practically since their inception, kept up with all of their interviews, knew everything about them. That's how he met Mark to begin with.

They'd met at a record store, when they both went to grab the band's first full length album, 'ButterfXy.' It was through the chatter that happened after that slight run in that made them realize they attended the same classes, and after high school, they'd become so close that they decided to become roommates. His relationship with Mark confused him, him and Mark would ramble on for hours about their favorite band.

And Sicheng would feel himself laughing a little too hard at Mark's fandom related jokes, sometimes he'd even notice a bit of heat arising to his cheeks. They had a lot in common, other than being professional fanboys. Mark was more extroverted, but at the end of the day they shared many similar viewpoints and anxieties – even if it was for the worst sometimes – and, even as much as Sicheng loved Beau X Papillon, it felt odd when Mark would go on long tangents about how attractive he found the lead singer, Nakamoto Yuta.

Even though Sicheng himself would consider Nakamoto Yuta to be his ideal type and biggest celebrity crush, when Mark talked about him with a sexual gaze, he found himself tied up in frustration. Almost an existential crisis of jealousy, torn between whether he was jealous the fact that someone else was looking at Yuta, or the fact that Mark found someone else so attractive. He knew he felt something for Mark, knew that the way he looked at his friend wasn't normal, but he also knew that he was too feminine for Mark's liking.

He knew if he confessed how he felt to Mark, he'd lose his friendship forever. So there he stood, all of these feelings washing up as the stage lit up, Mark had never seen someone's eyes light up like how Sicheng's did when he looked at Yuta. It was like he knew where he belonged in that moment, the bright colors flashed in front of him, and he was locked in like never before. His concentration couldn't be perturbed by any minor inconvenience, or benign thoughts that made things more complicated than they needed to be.

The first song came on, it was one of their most powerful ones. A perfect opener for a band like them, the drummer was speedy and energetic, both of the guitarist were in tune with each other, and the bassist was so focused and reeked confidence. But all of them were just background noise the minute that the lead vocalist stepped on stage. There was truly nobody like him, he was what every rockstar aimed to encapsulate. Free from society's expectations for men, free from rules, and not bound to superfluous things such as chasing fame or hobnobbing. He was a real rockstar.
