Chapter 27
One Thing
"Who are we waiting for, babe?" Sauyer asked beside me in the driver's seat.
I lowered the book I was reading and took one side of my headphones off before shifting my attention towards him. I could tell that he was trying to be patient but he couldn't help but ask no longer.
"Not at all, sweetheart. I was just asking." He reached over to the passenger's seat and gave my cheek a light peck before returning to his position and gazing in front.
I smirked at him.
"So...have you ever read a book that made you cry?" He asked me, but I could tell he was just trying to entertain himself.
I pursed my lips as I flicked a page. "The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo."
"Huh?"
"The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo made me cry," I clarified his confusion that should have been easily avoided.
"Pito talaga sila?"
"Anong pito talaga sila?"
I was taken aback when he hissed and gritted his teeth, all of a sudden feeling grumpy.
He shot me a glare, like he was ready to knock someone down or even murder them.
"What are their names? So I can beat their shit up," he spat out harshly.
Mas lalo ko siyang pinandilatan. "Kaninong pangalan? Sinong bububogbugin mo?"
He groaned frustratedly. How dare them make you cry? When was this? And you never even told me! Were they not embarrassed on picking on a single little boy like you?"
I dropped my book on my lap as I covered my mouth, continuing to burst out laughing as he stared at me with an expression of being lost mixed with confusion. I was cackling so hard that I was hitting my stomach repeatedly with my palm, feeling my abs starting to harden because of how silly he was!
