"I did amazing on that debate, mommy, I'm talking standing ovation after my speech, I swear that teacher has it out for me."

I put my hands on my sophisticated 10 year old's shoulders, squeezing her as I lowered my head next to hers.

"When people try to humble you, percipiently demonstrate why that is unconveiable."

I kissed her on the cheek, finishing up my bagel before heading upstairs to my office.

"Lola will take you to school unless you want to go early and ride with me?" I asked, stopping at the stairs.

"I love you, mommy, but I am not going to school early." She enunciated 'am not' with her hands. "I'll see you when you get home. Love you."

I couldn't help but laugh at my smart girl. "I love you the most nia bear, I'll see you before dinner."

I headed up the stairs to my office, gathering my documents when an unusual presence surprised me.

I jumped, putting my hand to my chest when I saw the culprit.

"You have to start announcing yourself, babe."

"You always say that. I'm sorry, baby." My husband chuckled, leaning down to kiss me.

I sighed in his embrace, savoring it before going into the office.

"I wanted to send you off today. It doesn't feel right not seeing you in the morning."

I gushed at him, never knowing him to feel this way.

"Aw baby, I'm sorry, I promise to wake you before I leave every morning now."

"You don't have to apologize for your day starting earlier than mine, I would love that, though." He leaned in, kissed me once more before creating space between us.

"Have a great day at work."

"Thank you, baby."

With that, I left, driving to work with an extra glow, and walked in with an extra pep.

"You're looking happy this morning. Maybe your client was right."

I chuckled at my receptionist, "What do you mean?"

"She said you'd be happy to see her. She's up waiting on you now."

"Now I'm curious."

She began clicking, and I waved my hand, "I want to be surprised."

"Okay, ma'am." She smiled with a nod of her head.

"By the way, only my husband can make me glow like this." I cheesed before making my way to my office.

"I know that's right." Danielle yelled behind me.

I opened my office door, still laughing at my favorite employee.
