Taehyung paced nervously in his small apartment, the memories flooding back like an unstoppable tide. He couldn't help but be haunted by the events that had driven him away from her in the first place.
Flashbacks*
It was a cold, rainy night when Taehyung first received the anonymous message. The sound of the rain pelting against his window had always been soothing, but that night, it only amplified his growing unease. His phone buzzed on the kitchen counter, and he picked it up to see a text from an unknown number.

Stay away from Y/N if you love her.Taehyung frowned, his heart skipping a beat. He tried to dismiss it as a prank, but the ominous feeling lingered. He didn't mention it to Y/N, not wanting to worry her over what he hoped was nothing.
But the messages didn't stop. Over the next few weeks, they became more frequent and more threatening. They were filled with explicit details about Y/N's routine, indicating that whoever was sending them was watching her closely.

I see you with her. Remember, she's not yours. One night, after a particularly threatening message, Taehyung's phone rang. He answered, his voice shaking. "Who is this?"
A deep, distorted voice responded. "You love her, don't you?"
Taehyung's blood ran cold. "Who are you? What do you want?"
"I want you to stay away from Y/N. If you don't, she'll get hurt. Badly."
Taehyung's heart pounded in his chest. "Leave her alone! What kind of person are you?"
The voice chuckled, a chilling sound that sent shivers down Taehyung's spine. "You don't get to ask questions. Just do as you're told, or you'll regret it."
The call ended abruptly, leaving Taehyung in a state of panic. He knew he had to protect Y/N, but he couldn't go to the police without any concrete evidence. He began to withdraw from her, hoping to keep her safe by putting distance between them.
4 months before breakup*
The threats escalated. One night, as Taehyung walked home from college, he noticed a dark figure following him. He quickened his pace, but the figure matched his speed. Panic set in, and Taehyung ducked into a nearby alley, hoping to lose his pursuer.
The figure followed him into the alley, and Taehyung felt a cold hand grab his shoulder. He spun around, ready to defend himself, but the figure was faster. A sharp pain exploded in his side as the figure punched him, knocking the wind out of him.
"Stay away from her or next time, it'll be her who gets hurt."
Taehyung clutched his side, struggling to breathe. "Why? What do you want from us?"
"Just stay away," the figure repeated before disappearing into the night.
Terrified and in pain, Taehyung knew he had no choice but to keep his distance from Y/N. He couldn't risk her safety, even if it meant breaking his own heart.
The day of breakup*
The final straw came when Taehyung found a threatening note taped to his apartment door. It contained pictures of Y/N, taken from a distance, with red Xs drawn over her face. The message was clear: she was being watched, and any further contact with her would result in dire consequences.
That night, Taehyung made the hardest decision of his life. He called Y/N and, with a heavy heart, told her that he needed space. He couldn't explain why, only that it was for her own good. When she pressed him for answers, he grew frustrated and said things he didn't mean, hoping to push her away for her own safety.
"You won't succeed without me, Y/N." he had said, his voice colder than he intended. "Just forget about us."
Present day*
Taehyung shook himself out of his reverie, the weight of those memories pressing down on him. He had lived in fear for months, but he couldn't let that fear control him anymore. He needed to be honest with Y/N, to tell her everything and hope she could forgive him.
