WITH A DETERMINED LOOK on his face, Jest stopped his horse next to hers, one hand on the hilt of his sword. 'Are you ready?' he asked Catherine. She nodded, taking in a deep breath. She was determined to defeat the Red Queen and her army, no matter what it took.
Catherine and her army made their way to the Red Castle. They knew it would be a difficult and dangerous journey, but they were determined to succeed. Their plan was to take over the castle and catch the Red Queen inside.
Jest, Hatta, Raven, and the White King all marched behind her, along with their soldiers, prepared for whatever lied ahead. But as they made their way through the treacherous terrain, Cath couldn't help but feel a sense of dread.
She could hear the sound of footsteps in the distance, and she knew that the Red Army was upon them. As they neared the Red Castle, the soldiers called out to them, raising their swords in defiance. This was the moment they had been waiting for.
The Red Queen's army came from all sides, attacking with fierce intensity. Catherine fought bravely, using her sword skills to take down her opponents. Jest and Hatta stayed close by, supporting her in battle.
The battle raged on for what felt like hours. Jest, Hatta, and even Raven, now in human form, fought like warriors, each of them wielding their weapons with dexterity and grace.
Despite their best efforts, the Red Queen's army seemed to be endless. Cath knew they were outnumbered, but she refused to back down. She battled on, taking down enemy after enemy, her members screaming at her, determined to reach the Red Queen. The air was heavy with tension, and everyone knew that only one side would emerge victorious.
It was a furious battle, a storm of steel and blood. The sound of clashing swords filled Cath's ears, the smell of sweat and blood filled the air. She fought with all her might, using every trick and technique she had learned from Trooper.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, she made it to the castle's gates.
'Jest!' she called for him, making sure he was still by her side. She looked around for him. 'Jest!' Catherine called out, panicking. She could see Hatta and Raven fighting not far away. But Jest . . .
She walked back into the battle, searching for him everywhere. Catherine did not comprehend what she was doing, killing soldiers that came in her way mindlessly. Her mind was focused on finding Jest.
She faintly heard her name being called from somewhere in a corner of her mind and looked over to where the voice was coming from. It was Raven. 'Catherine, go!' he shouted over the sounds of the battle, harsher than usual. He pointed with his head towards the castle's gates, while fighting a soldier.
Cath shook her head, looking from him to Hatta, who was fighting with his back at her, not knowing something was wrong. 'I can't find Jest!' she yelled back, looking around the battlefield desperately. Her vision blurred as she realised tears started falling.
Push, attack, slice, search.
Push, attack, slice, search.
She didn't know where Raven was anymore, nor if he was still talking to her. She kept fighting her way through the soldiers, getting further away from the gates.
'JEST!' she called, looking around, barely being able to walk anymore from the blurriness in her eyes, the pain in her chest. 'JEST!' she cried louder. 'Please, be all right. Please,' she begged whoever was listening to her anymore. Someone had to listen to her. Anyone.
A hand grabbed her shoulder, making her turn around. Her first instinct was to cut through whoever it was, but her heart, -or the pain left in her chest- , reacted before her muscles.
She hugged Jest and cried in his arms. 'I'm all right. I'm all right.' He breathed in her scent, his head buried in her hair, smoothing it with his hand.
She pulled away - no time for hugs in the middle of the battle. And that's when she noticed - one of his hands pressed to his side, covered in blood. He was all covered in blood.
Cath quickly moved it away and Jest hissed. She looked scared at him, blood quickly getting on her hand as she touched the wound. 'I'm all right.' He smiled weakly.
Catherine shook her head, looking down. 'Go! Go . . .' She looked around at the battle still taking place, panicking. 'Go to a healer!' Cath started pushing him from behind, motioning for him to go.
Jest looked at her sadly. 'I can't leave yo-'
'No, you can't! That's why I'm telling you to go! You promised you wouldn't leave me again!' she yelled at him frustrated, tears falling from her eyes.
They stayed like that for a few seconds, with Jest not saying anything and Cath trying to stop her tears from falling.
He cupped her cheek with his palm. 'Be careful. You have to come back to me, too,' he said, his voice cracking slightly. Cath nodded, trying to not break into sobs. He smiled sadly and looked at her one last time before a tower of stone separated them again.
Cath watched as the tower disappeared, along with Jest. She let out a shaky breath, trying to calm herself. He was safe. He was safe. He was safe. He was safe. He was safe.
