(I love her, but...oh, to be her!)
Quick recap in one sentence:
"It's my job as the princess"
The words struck the elder man like lightning.
And I'm no exception.
Realization and recognition washed over me, the looks of familiarity filling my person.
It was her.
"Get over it, child", the man's grumpy voice filled the silent room.
I'm the child.
The grumpy man, Sir Wieldburg, is getting me ready for our sort of trip.
It's basically a trip, but he insists that it's an important business trip and all that. It's still a trip, though. So never mind what he says.
I'm fussing over my clothes, worrying over whether or not to wear a dress or pants. Sir Wieldburg says little ladies should wear dresses, but the dresses I have (which were recently purchased by him without any measurements) are either much too short or too long.
"A child shouldn't grow so distressed about simple clothing. Be appreciative of the fact that I have bothered to buy you elegant and dainty dresses. Not many children are met with such support"
I know I'm a petite child of 8, but I also know that I'm not exactly a normal child.
Not too different from other children, but having thoughts that other kids don't often have.
"Hurry up, child!"
I finally decide on a yellow dress with white polka dots in the shape of white flowers. It ends just above my knees, so I decide that it's decent enough. It's sleeveless though, and has these weird holes on either sides of my waist. But it has pretty white frilly cloths on the edges, so I'm happy.
