The flower pot shattered as it fell to the ground.

Y/n grabbed her head, dread filling her heart. No, no, no... she thought, I thought this was over, the prophecy's fulfilled!

The girl felt Asher's hands on her sides. "Y/n? Y/n, is everything okay?"

The voice was misty, distorted. The girl felt like she was going to faint.

"Was it a vision?"

She nodded, trying to steady her shaking hands.

Asher frowned. "Something bad?"

Y/n finally swallowed the lump in her throat. Her voice was still shaking but she could now talk, at least. "N— No, just the fact that it was terrifies me because they're always there when something's about to happen and— I just don't know, I don't want anything to happen again."

Asher nodded understandingly, letting the girls' arms go now that she'd steadied herself. "What was it, princess?"

"Just... mist," Y/n said with a frown on her face. She shivered. It felt like a breeze going by.

Asher shook himself, too. "Did you feel that?"

Y/n nodded. "Yeah."

They stood in silence for a second. The birds had stopped singing, as if night had fallen and they'd all gone to sleep.

"Well, we've got to get these inside," Asher nodded to the suitcases at their feet, being the more sensible one of the two at the moment.

Y/n nodded, still recovering from her daze, and bent to pick up the key from under the pile of soil that had flowed out from the broken clay pot. She cringed internally. I'm so sorry, Evie, I'll buy you a new one.

The girl stayed outside, adjusting the flower in the pot a little so it was still somewhat standing while Asher lifted their suitcases inside.

His bustling fell silent and Y/n straightened up. It was unlike the boy to stop moving around and completing tasks, however minor the latter may be. "Asher?" she called.

"Y/n, you should see this."

The girl hurried into the house. She could see the kitchen from where she stood. It looked like people had left in a hurry, things scattered everywhere and a somewhat-eaten big cake on the table.

"Is that the cake you asked them to order for Jane?" the princess asked her friend.

Asher nodded. "Something's fishy here."

Y/n sniffed. "Dunno, I don't smell anything."

Asher gave the girl a look.

"Fine, fine," Y/n lifted her hands up in mock surrender. "I'll call Carlos."

She fished her phone out of her pocket. It didn't make a sound when she tried to turn it on. She shook it with a frown. "It's dead."

Asher frowned. "I'll get mine, then," he said, starting to search through his pockets. A while later, he crouched down to his bags as well and rummaged through the upper pockets, the places where he could've put it after exiting the limousine. "Don't tell me I left it..."

"I think you left it," Y/n deadpanned, heaving a sigh. "We'll get it sent back here, don't worry."

Asher straightened up from his squat. "Right, then. Let's wait for yours to charge a little."

"Yeah, no," Y/n said, leaving her phone on the kitchen table and going to walk out into the silence of the day. "I'm not waiting, let's go."

"Y/n, don't be—" Asher huffed, picking up the pace to catch up with his friend. "Wait for me, at least."

Y/n shrugged at his words and changed the topic. "There's got to be someone who can tell us what's going on, right?"

Asher frowned. He wasn't as sure as his friend was. "Sure, I guess"
