Celia ran to the back door as if she hadn't seen the sunlight in ages. She turned around with a smile, a mischievous glint in her eyes directed at Mal. "Hey... It's your bae."

Mal gasped, rushing outside. Everyone followed.

Y/n was the last, bits of cake still on her lips, so she got to take in the sight. Uma was greeting Gil, Harry was greeting Celia, Ben apparently had a whole beard now (the girl hadn't seen that coming), and Asher was a little off to the side with Jane. Y/n waved to the both of them, happy that they were alright, before she felt a tap on her shoulder.

She spun around with a smile, already knowing who it was. Carlos smiled back at her, his heart flipping. No matter how many times he saw that smile, it still had that same effect on him. In all honesty, he never wanted it to stop.

"Hey there, darling," he murmured, hugging Y/n.

The girl wrapped her arms around him, the both of them swaying back and forth. "I'm glad you're okay," she smiled.

"Same to you," Carlos answered, pulling away. He brushed a bit of hair out of Y/n's face before chuckling. "Wait, you got something..." He padded his thumb just above Y/n's lips before licking it. The girl blushed. Carlos didn't notice, his eyes widened instead. "Is that the cake?"

Y/n pouted. "We got hungry...?"

Carlos couldn't help but smile again, ruffling Y/n's hair. There weren't enough words in the world to express what he was feeling so instead he just wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her closer so he could lean his head onto hers while they both turned to Mal and Ben, who'd just got back to business after the little reunion.

"Okay. So we all think that Audrey could be at Fairy Cottage. We have no idea where it is. Did she ever take you there?"

"Only every Fairy Godmother's Day," said Ben, almost regretful. "Where is Fairy Godmother when you need her?"

"I wish I knew," Jane spoke up. Asher stood close to her, one hand wrapped comfortingly around her waist.

Y/n frowned, looking down at her feet. She then slid out of Carlos' arms and took his hand instead. "Well. If we want to heighten our chances of catching Audrey, we should get going soon."

Ben nodded at the girl's words. "Right. Doug, go with Jane, we need to find Fairy Godmother." The group shared glances. Y/n spotted a slight frown on Asher's face, his posture tense as he stood beside Jane.

Uma was the one to voice the issue. "They might need some muscle."

"Hey," Doug argued, though not convincingly.

Gil looked down at his arms, taking the statement more literally than it was meant. "Well, I'll go."

Y/n chuckled at the guy's childishness. It was rather refreshing in the given situation.

Asher's stance loosened up. "That would be better," he said, drawing attention to himself. "I'd go myself but I have taken an oath to Queen Merida."

"Yeah, actually, I'd feel better, too," Evie said.

Y/n bit back a smile. Evie, I get that you love Doug but you should be a little more subtle on your concerns about him.

"Same," Mal added.

Doug sighed. Harry raised his brows in surprise.

"Actually, I would, too," Doug finally realised.

Gil nodded, smiling. "All right, man, let's do it." He pulled Doug into a strong side hug.

Y/n's smile widened. If the rest of the group somehow managed to adapt to Gil's spirits, this mission would go like a slide.

"Let's go, Jane," Gil called.

"Okay," Jane said, gingerly letting go of Asher.

"Be careful, hm?" the boy called after her.

"I will."

And the trio set off, leaving everyone else to look after them. With Gil left also the happiness in the air.

"So what now?" Y/n asked.

Mal sighed. "If Audrey's in the cottage... We should probably wait for night to fall before going."
