Chapter 13: The Beach Trip

A couple days later..

As I was packing my bag for the beach, and gathering our drinks for the barbecue, I got a phone call from John, he was outside waiting for me. I quickly got all of the stuff I needed and headed out the door.

"Well don't you just look adorable." John said.

"Yeah well my little adorable self can't load all of this by myself."

"Oh I'm sorry! Get in the car, I've got it." John replied.

John then opened the car door for me and kissed me on the cheek.

After loading, we took off and we're now headed to the beach.

At the beach..

Jen & Blake were there waiting for us already. John & I walked over to them.

"Hey guys!" Jen said.

"I'm glad you guys decided to join." Blake said while staring me down.

"Yeah well, we wanted to get away."

"We're staying here over night if you guys want to as well!" Said Jen.

"We have to head back tonight, we don't want to intrude. Thanks thoug-"

Blake cut me off.

"Oh no intruding, we brought you guys a tent." He said.

"Hell yeah! We'll stay!" John shouted.

Oh great, a night spent with Blake, this was going to be dreadful.

I let out a fake smile.

A couple hours passed...

It was now time to start getting ready for bed & we were all trashed. I've been having a good time surprisingly, me and Blake have hardly talked to that's a good thing, and I'm enjoying myself. John and I have been all over each other, nonstop. I like it. As I was about to get in the tent, I saw John already crashed inside of it. But Jen had called me.

"Athena, hey, can we talk." Jen said, she was at least somewhat sober.

But oh shit, what did she want to talk about..

"Yeah! Sure."

We then went to go sit somewhere quiet .

"What's up Jen?" I asked.

I was also wondering where Blake was.

"It's Blake."

Of fucking course, that asshole.

"Oh god, what did he do?"

"After seeing you and John together, I realized that Blake doesn't treat me like I should be treated, he hardly kisses me, or hugs me, much less talks to me. It's really bugging me." Jen said while tearing up.

"Look Jen, maybe he's just getting used to this whole relationship thing, give it some time. Plus you've been drinking a lot & it's got you thinking. Go get some rest." I said.

I was basically bullshitting the whole damn thing, I then went to go put Jen to bed.

After putting her to bed, I remembered I forgot something in the car, so I went to go grab it.

As I got to the car, I heard footsteps behind me.

"Don't worry, it's just me." Said Blake.

"... Oh it's cool, not creepy at all." I said sarcastically.

"Tonight was a pretty good night, don't you think?" Asked Blake.

"Honestly it was." I realized I let out a slight smile..

Blake smiled back.

"I knew you could still smile haha."

"Of course I can, I just hate to around you."

"There's the stubborn sass Athena I know." Blake said.

But, he really doesn't know me anymore. I wasn't going to start anything to I decided to keep quite.

"Yeah well I better go to bed.." I started to walk off but Blake called me back.

"Athena, I feel like this helped us.. I mean, you & me, it helped us be civil with each other, thank you."

"I think so too Blake." I smiled back again.

I was being really nice, but he actually gave me a reason to be.

As I was about to leave again, Blake pulled me back & looked at me with those beaty eyes of his.

He then pulled me in and started to kiss me, I didn't stop him. It felt so right but I knew it wasn't. He began to feel all over me, but eventually his hands made it to my face. He cupped my face with his big hands and pulled back a piece of my hair that was in the way & kept kissing me.

While we were kissing I heard a voice. It was Jen.

"What are you guys.. Doing?" She said while crying.

Oh my god I thought. Me & Blake then separated ourselves.

"Jen.. It was noth-" but Blake cut me off.

"Actually Jen.. I have to be honest. I've been wanting to kiss Athena since the day me and you met." He said.

"What??? You've just been attracted to her this whole time?" She said.

"I've always been attracted to her. Since high school." He said back.

"What? What do you mean Blake?" She finally stopped crying and was being very stern.

I just stood there in shock.

"Me & Athena went out in high school, and she meant a lot to me, and still does. I just ruined it just for some silly bet." Blake said back.

Jen then turned to me.

"You knew about this and didn't tell me Athena? How could you? I thought you were my best friend! I trusted you."

"Jen I'm so sorry, we just got caught in-"

She cut me off.

"I'm done with the both of you. I don't ever want to see you guys ever again." She started crying again.

Blake didn't say anything.

"Wait-" I said, but before I could finish my sentence, Jen ran off crying to go grab her car keys so she could leave.

I turned to Blake, thinking, I just lost my best friend for the boy who completely broke me.

What did I just do? What was Blake thinking? What was going to happen??
