Okay before I start, let me take you back a couple years, to senior year of high school, when it all started...
March 20, 2006
I was walking down the hall trying to get to my next class, I had honors Algebra, and it was all the way across the school. Some people were running, and others were shoving students trying to get to class on time. It was complete chaos, this was no game, not for me at least. See, me, Athena Brooks, has never been late to a class, ever, and today won't be that day. I've been a straight A student since grade school, you may think I'm a big nerd who doesn't have any friends, and I have braces and I'm fat. No, not at all, I have plenty of friends, and I know how to have a good time. I'm 5'6 and I have long ringlet curly hair that's a Carmel Blonde color, I'm also mixed. My dad is black, and my mother is white. I have green eyes, and I'm curvy. That's basically it. But enough about me, back to the chaos that's happening right in front of me.
I'm carrying my books in one arm, and pushing people out of the way with the other.
"Move ya asses" I say, and most people give me dirty looks, but screw it.
As soon as I think I finally get to my class, someone bumps into me and knocks all my books down.
"Oh greatttttt." I say, then sigh.
I bend down to pick up my books and see that the person who bumped me, is just looking down at me.
"Are you going to stand there or are you going to help me mister?" I say obnoxiously.
"Oh yeah, sorry." He says back.
He bends down to help me get my books.
"Your welcome" he says.
"Did I say thank you..?" I say, and roll my eyes.
I am not in the mood for this, I thought.
"Well, no. But-"
I cut him off.
"Look I have to go, bye."
I was being rude, but I honestly didn't care.
He stopped me and pulled me by my arm gently.
"Ahhhhh, that's the problem. You don't know who I am."
All of his friends were looking at us at this point.
"Yeah I do, you're the little asshole who wasn't paying attention and knocked my books down, that's who."
He was the last thing from little, but still, you get my point. All of his friends busted out laughing, he then rolled his eyes at them.
"You're fiesty, I like that. But if you really wanted to know who I am, I'm Blake Griffin, and I'm the guy who has gotten to and won state for the school 2 years in a row."
He smiled a cocky smile.
"Ooooo, even better, you're an asshole, and you play sports."
I turned around an walked off into my algebra class.
"WAIT I DIDN'T EVEN GET YOUR NAM-"
His voice trailed off because I was already in class.
After class
I was even more stressed than I already was because I now learned that I have a algebra test tomorrow, which means no fun for me tonight, just studying.
As I was walking to my last class of the day, I saw a basketball poster. It had the guy that ran into me today. The poster said..
"King of Basketball, take us to state again this year? We depend on you. #GoSaints"
I laughed at the thought of us, or just me "depending" on Blake.
See, this Blake kid is all bad and no good. I don't even understand how he's on the basketball team, all he does is get bad grades and have girls who have no respect for themselves fall over him. I think he drinks and smokes. It's disgusting. But then again, he is the most popular guy in school, if that's an accomplishment.
I continued to walk to my last class, I was still pissed about Blake knocking down my books, not just because he wasn't paying attention, but because he was obnoxious about it. He acted like it was an honor for me to have my books knocked down by him. Oh please. But I'm not going to let it get to me, I hardly see him around, and thank god for that.
