Daichi treated the entire group to meat buns from the convenience store near the park before parting ways with the rest of the group. The remaining people were the usual trio, Hinata, Kageyama, Tsukishima, Yamaguchi, and Tanaka, who complained about being the only second year.
As Tsukishima walked to Mitsuko's apartment, a sense of curiosity washed over him when he passed the hill where they had unknowingly met before. The sun was setting, just like that day, but this sunset painted the sky in soft blues and purples instead of the blinding orange hues they had once seen.
They took the elevator and then walked to her unit, number 611, and stepped inside. The interior of the apartment was modest and compact, with off-white walls showing marks with age. There was a brown faded couch in the living room, decorated by mismatched cushions and a glass coffee table. The dining area featured a square table and three chairs.
As the guests found seats throughout the apartment, continuing their conversations, Tsukishima examined the room. The overall aesthetic did not match up to his expectations for the home of a world-class professional violinist.
Tsukishima and Kageyama both examined the apartment walls, each with their own curiosity. The walls were decorated with Hoshiyama Mizuki's accolades going back to even her elementary school years, as expected of a prodigy. Awards from various competitions were delicately arranged around the apartment, interspersed with family photos and solo pictures of Oikawa.
Among these were several images of a young woman with long brown hair that flicked out at the ends. Another photo featured the same woman, smiling warmly beside a young boy with a shaved head and twin girls with dark brown hair.
One picture that particularly caught Kageyama's eye was one where an elementary school-aged Oikawa held a violin with a sad smile on his face. As Kageyama fixed his attention to pictures of Oikawa, Tsukishima had noticed that all of the photos he had seen so far were missing a significant detail. He finally reached a mantle near the TV, which displayed more family pictures. There, a single photo stuck out to him.
In the photo, there was a dark brown-haired man with dark eyes who sat at the far left with a stern expression on his face. He sat beside a woman with glasses who had long brown hair that flicked off to the sides and cold chocolate brown eyes. She had her arm around a young Oikawa who sat to her right, next to a toddler girl with her black hair in pigtails. Her dark blue eyes popped in the photo. In the centre, was the young woman he had seen before who seemed to be around the age of twenty. Tsukishima furrowed his brow, deep in thought.
"So you are a stalker." Mitsuko teased from behind him.
He tensed up at her words, and turned to face her. "I was just looking for your awards."
She raised an eyebrow at him. "There are no awards on the mantle."
"I didn't see any awards at all. At least, none of yours." He retorted.
She glared at him. "They exist. They're just in my room."
He furrowed his brows. He saw all of Oikawa's awards on the wall. There still seemed to be plenty of space to put at least one award up. He was about to speak but he was interrupted by Hinata's energetic voice.
"The Great King looks just like your mom!" He exclaimed.
Kazune glanced at Mitsuko, hoping to read her expression, but her face was emotionless.
"Do you guys think we should order some food?" Kazune asked loudly, diverting everyone's attention.
Mitsuko offered her friend a half-hearted smile, acknowledging her kindness, as everyone else voiced their agreement with Kazune's suggestion.
