Salut!

Hello.

Aujourd'hui, nous allons apprendre les verbes qui finissent en -ER.

Today, we're going to learn the verbs that ends in -ER.
We're gonna learn how to conjugate them.
Ang mga verbs na nagtatapos sa -ER ay tinatawag na Verbs of 1st Group, at ang mga ito ang pinakamadadaling inconjugate.

Para magawa niyo 'to kaylangan niyo muna ireview ang personal pronouns. Tanda niyo pa ba?

Let's refresh!

Je - Ako

Tu - Ikaw

Il - Siya (Boy)

Elle - Siya (Girl)

On - Tayo or Tara

Nous - Tayo/ Kami

Vous - Kayo

Ils - Sila (Only boys or boys+girls)

Elles - Sila (Only girls)

Now let's try to conjugate our first Verb. My favorite verb.

The verb MANGER, which means TO EAT.

(XD)

How to conjugate a verb?

I-divide nating ang verb sa dalawang bahagi.

The root and the suffix (or ending, or desinence, whichever u want xD)

MANG --- ER
root --- suffix

In this case the root is MANG
And the suffix is -ER.

To conjugate a verb kaylangan natin palitan ang suffix. For every personal noun nag papalit ang suffix ng verbs. Isa 'to sa mga minana ng French sa wikang Latin. This aspect is visible in all neolatin languages: spanish, italian etc.

Let's see how this works. I-notice niyo yung mga bold letters, and see kung paano nagbabago ang suffix na -ER. Lahat ng mga suffix na 'to are the same for all the verbs that ends in -ER.

• Je mange

• Tu manges

• Il mange

• Elle mange

• On mange

[Tip: kapag magcoconjugate kayo ng verbs, Il, Elle and On always end the same way]

• Nous mangeons

• Vous mangez

•Ils mangent

•Elles mangent

[TIP: 3rd person both singular and plural have the same pronunciation. For example Elle mange and Elles mangent are both pronounced "Ell manj"]

Manger has one exception.
Kung napansin niyo, ang 1st Person Plural should have been "Nous mangONS" but for better sounding reasons the word is "mangeons" pronounced manzhion.

Now let's try with another verb.

AIMER (pronounced: EME)
To like/ To love.

Always notice how suffix -ER changes.

J'aime

Tu aimes

Ils/ Elle/ On aime

[TIP: kung tanda niyo ang phonetics in the 1st lesson mapapansin niyo na kahit iba't iba ang pagsulat, pare-pareho lang ang pag-basa sa first 4: J'em, ti em, il em, ell em]

Nous aimons

Vous aimez

Ils/ Elles aiment

Now try it on your own.

Conjugate the verbs:

PARLER (to talk/ to speak)

CHANTER (to sing)

Good Luck!

and Merci!
