FRENCH ARTICLES - LES ARTICLES FRANÇAIS
French articles are sometimes confusing for language students, because they have to agree with the nouns they modify. Nag-iiba sila ng "anyo" dipende sa gender at/o number ng pangngalan na kasunod nito.
French has three different kinds of articles:
- Definite articles
- Indefinite articles
- Partitive articles
Pero dalawang klase ng articles lang muna ang ituturo ko sa inyo. The definite and the indefinite.
1) Ang DEFINITE ARTICLES sa french corresponds to "THE" sa wikang Ingles.
Masculine singular ---> Le
EXAMPLE: Le pére (The father)
Feminine singular ---> La
EXAMPLE: La sœur (The sister)
In front of a vowel ---> L'
EXAMPLE: L'arbre (The tree)
Feminine and Masculine Plural ---> Les
EXAMPLE: Les fleurs (the flowers)
2) ang INDEFINITE ARTICLES naman, corresponds to "A, AN" sa wikang Ingles.
Masculine singular ---> Un
EXAMPLE: Un pére (A father)
Feminine singular ---> Une
EXAMPLE: Une sœur (A sister)
Masculine and Feminine Plural ---> Des
EXAMPLE: Des fleures (Some flowers)
Tip: Tuwing may natututunan kayong bagong French word, make your vocabulary lists with a definite or indefinite article for each noun.
This will help you learn the gender of each noun along with the word itself, which is important because the articles (as well as adjectives, pronouns, and just about everything else) change to agree with the gender of the noun.
