CHAPTER FIVE.
narrativeShe didn't even knock. She just opened the door and walked in which would normally be fine when she wasn't insanely pissed off at me for no fucking reason. Thankfully, no one is home right now. Eve and Mia are both talking to professors, I'm not even sure Ben and Hudson are home next door.
"Daisy?" she calls through the apartment from the door.
I sigh softly. "Living room," I reply gently from where I'm sitting.
I take a deep breath as Asher turns into the living room from our entryway and her face is plagued with fury.
This is going to be fun, I think to myself as I come face to face with my girlfriend who has her arms crossed over her chest.
"Are you serious?" she asks and I'm already exhausted.
I stand up from my spot. "I went to a karaoke bar with some friends. I don't know why you're mad."
A scoff leaves her lips as she stares at me with judging eyes. "You don't know why I'm mad!? Are you serious right now?"
"I'm completely serious," I say, trying to stay calm. "All I did was hang out with my friends, Ash."
My heart has started beating rapidly. Arguing makes me feel like I'm back in Edwardsville, back in my parents house.
I shake my head a little bit as I look at her. "Can you please just tell me why you're mad?"
She scoffs again. "I can't believe you..." she says as she paces back and forth reminding me so much of my mother.
"You can't believe me?" I ask. I didn't do anything wrong.
"Is it that hard to believe that I'm mad at you, Daisy? Or are you just that stupid?"
Her words hit me like a fucking truck, knocking the wind out of me as I look at her. Genuinely, I can't believe her, but she must have a reason if she's this pissed.
"You didn't even take me home last night, but you can go hang out with Caitlin and the basketball team?" Asher says, raising her voice. God, I hate yelling.
I shake my head, taking a deep breath to steady myself. "I offered to take you home. You wanted Clara to take you."
I can tell that my mention of Clara irritates her even more and she lets a deep growl leave her chest. "Yeah, because Clara actually cares about my well-being... Unlike my own girlfriend!" she shouts and as those words are expelled into the space between us my body grows numb and my jaw tightens.
"What did you just say?" I ask, my throat feeling like it's closing. "You insisted last night that she take you home. You acted like you barely wanted to be around me last night."
