"no effing way!" kie paced angrily. "you brought her here? so what? she's in on this now?"

kailani sat on the armrest of the sofa jj was sitting on. she had her arms crossed against her chest and was sending glares to both john b and sarah. she let kie do all the talking.

john b looked to pope for some help, but he just shrugged.

"look, all i care about is that her cut comes out of your share." jj said.

"you know, i don't remember taking a vote. this is our thing. a pogue thing."

"i gotta say, i'm just a tad uncomfortable with all of this."

"thank you!" kie thanked.

kay gave pope a nod of agreement.

"when are you not uncomfortable?" john b asked.

"well, i don't know- i rode here on the back of jj's bike pretty comfortably."

"it's true. most relaxed i've ever seen him."

"that's cute guys."

jj looked over at kay who let a small smile escape her lips that told him his faux seriousness was funny, and not crossing any lines. she quickly went back to her glares once she saw sarah looking over at her.

"you know, we were all extremely comfortable until you brought her." kie gritted her teeth.

"stop talking about me like i'm not here!" sarah said angrily.

"then leave, sarah! you're staying in a place where you're very clearly not wanted; are you not ashamed of yourself?" kailani asked genuinely. she grabbed the part of the armrest she wasn't sitting on so tightly that the tips of her fingers were turning yellow.

"i told you." sarah turned to look at john b.

"what did you tell him, sarah?" kay stood up and walked to stand in between her and kie. "did you tell him that you were a liar? or did you tell him you were a manipulative, sleezy-"

"my money's on kailani." jj took out a couple of scrunched up bills and gave it to pope.

"i told him that you were a desperate pushover who shit-talked people left and right." sarah retaliated.

"oh shit!" pope gasped.

"when have i ever lied? or even manipulated anyone?"

"don't act like your an angel, sarah. i know what lengths you go to to get people to like you. you may say that i'm a pushover, but at least i'm not a two faced bitch. did you forget about leah, sarah? did you? cause i didn't! remember what you did to her? what you said about her? her boyfriend?"

"well- you- fuck you!"

"everybody, shut up!" john b yelled.

"look, you two are my best friends, right?" john b asked, fully expected at least a nod from them, but the two girls stared at him blankly.

"and sarah, you're my..." he trailed off.

"say it." she urged him.

"you're my girlfriend."
