Chapter Two
The first thing that popped up in my mind when I opened my eyes was probably the most cliquish question ever in this situation. "Where am I?" I opened my mouth to say, but nothing came out of my parched lips. My mouth was so dry that I couldn't get any sound to come out of it.
I realized that I was lying down on a couch that was set in the middle of what looked like the front room of a mansion. Above me was a magnificent crystal chandelier. I noticed a couple other couches and seats in the huge room as well. To my right there was a humongous stair case with a maroon carpet going up it in the center. At the top of the stairs was two hallways going left and right. I moved my head as best I could to see behind me and saw that there were two long hallways with at least a dozen doors in each of them. In front of me on the wall was the biggest flat screen TV I've ever seen, it was literally the size of the wall.
I went to sit up but found my hands and feet tied down to the couch. I started to panic once I remembered what happened the night before. I got kidnapped! As the realization of the situation sank in on full force, it caused me to panic even more. My heartbeat sped up twice as fast as the normal pace. Sweat formed on my forehead in little beads. Tons of questions formed in my head. What does my kidnapper want with me? Why'd I have to be the one to be kidnapped? Is my kidnapper some psychotic killer? Has my parents called the police yet? Are they freaking out? What are you talking about? They must be losing their minds wondering what happened to me.
I heard footsteps coming from behind me. "Ah, I see you've finally woken up," said a deep familiar voice from behind me. Once my kidnapper came into my line of vision, my eyes widened like saucers and I gasped. He chuckled. "Surprised, Brown Eyes?"
"But . . . But. . . You're . . . You're Tyler Black," I finally sputtered out. More questions came to my mind. Tyler Black kidnapped me, but why? Why me? And what does he want from me?
He smirked and sat down on the coffee table just a couple feet away. "The one and only."
As I sat (or lied) there is when I got an actual good look at him. He had jet black hair that looked messed up like he'd ran his hand through it tons of times, and dark blue eyes that reminded me of the knight sky. I guessed that he was around five foot nine inches or six foot. I realized that he actually was kinda cute. Wait, what? Snap out of it, Amy! You're not supposed to think that he's cute, he kidnapped you! A scowl formed on my face. "Why'd you kidnap me?" I spat at him with as much force as I could muster from my croaking voice.
He looked surprised by my outburst. "Well then, the little nerd actually has some fire in her. That, I was not expecting." He paused. "Before I answer any of your questions, let me get you a drink of water. Your mouth must be really dry. Hang on a sec," he said, standing up.
My eyes narrowed. "I don't want a drink of water. I want you to answer my question! Why'd you kidnap me?" I said again, raising my voice as best I could.
He put his finger to his lips. "Shh, be quiet. Just calm down. I don't want you to completely lose your voice before we even start talking. Now, if you'll wait here, I'll be right back." He was walking towards the hall to the right before I could say another word.
I groaned. I don't want a drink of water, and why should he care if I lose my voice from screaming at him. He's the one that kidnapped me in the first place. Calm down, Amy. Nothing will be solved if you keep screaming at him. I took a big deep breath. I started to move my hands and feet around to see if I could loosen the bonds on them. My feet and hands were asleep from the lack of blood flow. He tied these ropes really tight. I heard his footsteps coming back down the hall and I quit struggling.
"Here's your water," he called, coming to sit back on the coffee table. He looked at me and finally figured out after a couple moments that I wouldn't be able to drink laying down. "If I untie you, will you try to run?" he asked.
