Chapter Six

I woke to the blinding sun shining down on me through my window. I groaned and rolled over in the bed, facing away from the light. Why can't I remember to close my curtains at night before I go to bed?

I was just on the verge of going back to sleep when I heard the doorbell downstairs. Who would be here at this time in the morning? I then rolled back over to check my alarm. Oh, it was later in the day than I thought. I had slept in. It was eleven.

I rubbed the sleep from my eyes and slowly got up out of bed and made my way to the bathroom. I undressed and got into the steaming hot shower. It has been one week since Tyler took me on a date, which means there's only one more week till his parents will get here. That thought alone scares the crap out of me. I have no clue how we're going to get through this, Tyler hasn't even taken me on a second date so far.

Even though I've never been in a real serious relationship, I know for a fact that Tyler and I aren't even close to acting like a "lovey dovey" couple. Sure, we've been getting along a lot better since our date. I've been coming out of my room a little more this past week. We've been able to have decent conversations with each other just talking about random things. I also watched a couple movies with a him.

Despite all those things, let's just say that if you didn't know our situation, it would look like we were two people who were stuck and had to deal with each other for a certain amount of time. The word 'couple' wouldn't even enter your mind.

Once I was clean, I turned the shower off and wrapped a towel around my body. I made my way out of the bathroom and to the walk in closet. I slipped on a green t-shirt along with knee length dark blue jean shorts. I walked back into the bedroom brushed out my hair and put it up into a messy bun.

My stomach then made itself known by making a loud growling noise. Thank goodness Tyler wasn't present, he would've made some sarcastic remark about how I never eat or that I'm always hungry.

I turned the doorknob and walked out into the long hallway. When I made it to the staircase I could start to hear voices from somewhere downstairs. I'd guess they were in the living room or the kitchen. The first voice I heard I automatically knew was Tyler's, but the second one was one that I've never heard before.

"What about---?"

That last part was muffled so I couldn't tell who they were talking about. My ears perked up a little more. I became curious, questions started popping up inside my mind. Who was this mysterious person that Tyler was talking to? Who were they talking about?

After an agonizingly slow moment, Tyler answered. "What about her?"

I heard a chair scrape against the floor then someone sit down. "Well, have you told her yet?"

Someone sighed. "No, I haven't yet. I---I'm just waiting for the right time."

"Tyler, you have to tell her. She deserves to know the truth," the person replied.

A muffled groan came from the other room. Tyler answered in an almost angry tone. "You don't think I know that? That's why I've brought her here. Trust me, I wish I could tell her. But---she's not ready. If I told her now, it would either tear her apart inside or she would think I'm crazy."

Were they talking about me? If they were, I couldn't tell for sure.

Before the unfamiliar guy could respond, Tyler spoke up again. "I really wish I could tell her, Nathan. You have no idea how much it's killing me not to be able to."

Oh, so the unknown guys name is Nathan. I finished walking down the stairs and slowly made my way into the kitchen where I saw Tyler and the other boy Nathan. Tyler was sitting on a chair with his head between his hands and a boy with dirty blond hair that could only be Nathan was sitting on the table staring down at Tyler.
