Jisung frantically paced his room as the full impact of the situation finally hit him. He was on the verge of having a full-blown panic attack. He had to live yet another lie. Another lie where his life was on the line if anyone found out.
Fucking fantastic!
He should just save himself the trouble and the stress and kill himself. At least then he didn't have to be fearing everything constantly. He wondered what a life without lies would feel like. Freedom and acceptance. The words were a foreign concept to his mind now. His life consisted only of secrets and lies and then more secrets and lies to cover up the previous secrets and lies.
He closed his eyes with a groan as a headache pulsated through his skull.
He had to pretend not to have magic and pretend to be Minho's secret lover.
Lee Jiho thought Jisung and Minho were in a secret relationship. Jeongin knew that Jisung and Minho were lying to Jiho about it. Namjoon, his mother, and Seungmin knew he was lying to everyone about his magic. If anyone else learned about these secrets his life would be as good as over. He wouldn't be able to protect Minho anymore. He'd fail in helping Minho successfully live up to his centuries-old destiny written since the dawn of time itself. And it would be all Jisung's fault.
Why the hell did his life have to get so complicated?
He'd been taught to hide his magic his entire life, he was good at it and he knew what he was doing. Mostly. Well, he was getting better at it. Namjoon would definitely disagree though.
But how do you pretend to be in a secret relationship that no one can know about but still make it obvious enough that the king believed it was happening?
He was thinking of telling Namjoon the truth. After all, his cousin knew about his magic and it was just easier to talk to someone who knew all of his secrets. Someone to help him balance his alibis and juggle his lies as well as remind him of what the lies even were when he forgot about them.
A knock on his door made Jisung freeze mid-step in his pacing. "Who is it?"
"It's me," Jeongin said.
Jisung frowned. Why was Jeongin here? Did Minho say something to him? Did he come here to warn him about something? Did Minho freak out about the kiss? Did Minho fire him?
Jisung rushed over to the door and opened it. He grabbed Jeongin's arm and yanked the younger into the room, who barely found his balance as he caught onto the small dresser in the corner.
"What are you doing here?"
Jeongin huffed before sighing. "Minho sent me." He looked at Jisung before his eyes narrowed slightly. "Hyung, are you okay? You look like a caffeinated chipmunk."
