So many things have happened in the past few days, it all seems like a blur. I can feel the atmosphere between Daisy and I changing. Changing in a way that I've wanted but been too scared to voice. She's been so close and in my arms more times these past few days than during our entire lives. There's just something about the way she fits so perfectly snug in my arms, and the way she smells like sunshine and vanilla in the middle of fall that's so intoxicating. I can't seem to get enough of her.
I've found myself wanting to be around her more. Finding the smallest and lamest excuses to be in the same room as her. I've caught myself almost laying everything out for her.
Daisy, I've been in love with you ever since I've taught you how to ice skate. I can't stand to be away from you. It gets hard to breathe or think when you're not near. I can't live a life where you're not in it. Please, stay with me. Don't ever leave, because if you do I will stop at nothing to find you and find a way to stay by your side for the rest of our lives.
My thoughts were so caught up in the warmth of Daisy Philips that I was hardly paying attention to what Coach Travis was talking about.
"Dude, I totally zoned out. What just happened?" I leaned over and whispered to Kaleb.
"Nothing much. He's just going over the play for tomorrows game. What's got you so distracted man?" Kaleb whispered back.
"I...prefer to keep that to myself."
"No way, you're thinking about Philips' twin sister aren't you?" He gave me a smug look as he smiled at me.
I shifted on my feet as I kept my gaze locked on Coach T. I hated that he had figured me out so quickly, I thought it wasn't obvious that I liked Daisy.
"Dude, you've got it down baaaaaaad for her." He chuckled as he skated by after Coach dismissed us. I rolled my eyes and left the rink. I made my way to the locker room to change.
Daisy was still sick and hasn't been able to come to school. I promised I would pick her up a Gatorade and her favorite soup from the cafe she loves. Of course I have all of this information memorized and written down in a secret note in my phone. Once Daisy mentions something she loves, it goes straight into my phone.
After I left practice I went to Lavender Lane Cafe to pick up Daisy's soup. She loves their tomato soup with her mom's homemade grilled cheese sandwich to dip it in. I texted Trish earlier and asked if she could make the sandwiches ahead of time. Once I made it to the Philips' household I heated up Daisy's sandwich and prepared a tray for her. With her soup, sandwich, and light blue Gatorade ready I walked up the stairs and knocked softly on her bedroom door.
I entered her room after I heard her soft hum. She was curled up in the corner of her bed, wrapped up snuggly in her blanket with her Kindle in her lap. I couldn't help but smile at how adorable she was with her hair all a mess on the top of her head and her reading glasses on the tip of her nose.
