The evening sun cast a warm glow over Apple and Raven's dorm room as the group gathered once again. The room buzzed with chatter and laughter, the tension of the previous days fading away in the comfortable presence of friends. They lounged in their usual spots, enjoying the relaxed atmosphere.

Raven sat cross-legged on her bed, her spellbook open in front of her. She practiced the incantations under her breath, her fingers tracing the ancient symbols on the pages. Apple, perched beside her, was deep in conversation with Brooke about the intricacies of the spell.

On the floor, Maddie and Kitty were once again locked in their playful bickering. Maddie, with her hat tilted jauntily, was animatedly explaining the wonders of Wonderland animals, while Kitty, reclining with a feline grace, teased her with every opportunity.

"I'm telling you, Kitty, in Wonderland, there's a dodo bird that can do the cha-cha!" Maddie insisted, her eyes wide with excitement.

Kitty smirked, her eyes gleaming with mischief. "Sure, Maddie. And next, you'll tell me that the Cheshire Cat can do ballet."

"He can, but only when the moon is blue," Maddie retorted, her voice full of conviction.

Bunny and Alistair, seated together on the bean bags in the corner, shared a laugh at their friends' antics. Bunny's eyes sparkled with amusement as she watched Maddie and Kitty banter. She leaned closer to Alistair, her shoulder brushing against his, sending a pleasant shiver down her spine.

"They're like a comedy duo," Bunny said, giggling. "I could watch them all day."

Alistair chuckled, his gaze lingering on Bunny's smiling face. "Yeah, they sure know how to keep things interesting."

As they shared another laugh, Bunny felt her heart flutter. She couldn't help but admire how Alistair's eyes crinkled at the corners when he laughed, or how his voice had a soothing warmth to it. She stole a glance at him, noticing the way his hair fell into his eyes, and felt a blush creep up her cheeks.

Alistair, sensing her gaze, turned to look at Bunny. Their eyes met, and for a moment, the room seemed to fade away, leaving just the two of them in their little corner of the world. The subtle pining in Alistair's eyes matched Bunny's own feelings, creating a silent, unspoken connection between them.

Brooke, observing the scene, couldn't help but smile. She leaned over to Apple and whispered, "Look at those two. They're adorable."

Apple glanced over, a knowing smile playing on her lips. "They are, aren't they? It's like watching a fairy tale unfold right before our eyes."

Brooke sighed softly. "Almost makes me wish I could narrate their story."

The room buzzed with conversation, laughter, and the occasional friendly argument. Maddie and Kitty's banter continued, with Maddie animatedly defending Wonderland's eccentricities and Kitty finding new ways to poke fun at her friend's enthusiasm.

"Oh, come on, Kitty! Wonderland creatures are the most amazing! They can do things you can't even imagine!" Maddie declared, her hat wobbling as she spoke.

Kitty raised an eyebrow, her grin never fading. "And yet, here I am, imagining them just fine. Maybe they're not so special after all."

Bunny and Alistair laughed, their shoulders brushing again as they leaned closer. Bunny couldn't help but feel a sense of contentment in this moment, surrounded by friends and feeling a growing connection with Alistair. She wondered if he felt the same, if his heart skipped a beat like hers did whenever their eyes met.

As the evening wore on, Raven finally closed her spellbook, looking up at her friends. "Okay, everyone, I think we're ready to give this spell a try. But we'll need the mirror to complete it."

Apple nodded, her expression serious. "Right. Alistair, can you grab the mirror from your bag?"

Alistair nodded and reached for his bag, which was sitting beside him. He rummaged through it, a small frown forming on his face as he searched. After a moment, he looked up, his eyes wide with surprise.

"It's... gone," he said, his voice tinged with disbelief. "The mirror isn't here."

The room fell silent, the weight of his words sinking in. Raven stood up, her brows furrowing. "What do you mean, it's gone? Are you sure you packed it?"

Alistair nodded, his expression troubled. "I know I did. I double-checked before we left. It was right here."

Bunny, her heart skipping a beat, leaned closer to Alistair. "Maybe it fell out somewhere? We should retrace our steps and see if we can find it."

Kitty, always the pragmatist, smirked. "Or maybe it decided to go on an adventure of its own. You know how these magical items can be."

Maddie gasped, her eyes wide with excitement. "Oh, maybe it's on a quest! Mirrors have the most fascinating journeys, you know."

Brooke stood up, a determined look on her face. "Well, whatever the reason, we need to find it. Without that mirror, we can't complete the spell."

Apple nodded, her expression resolute. "Let's split up and search the school. We'll find it, no matter what."

As the group prepared to search for the missing mirror, Raven's mind raced. Without the mirror, their plan to send Brooke back to the narrator world would be impossible. She couldn't shake the feeling that something—or someone—was trying to stop them.

And as they headed out into the darkening halls of Ever After High, the sense of urgency grew. The mirror had to be found, and fast. For the fate of their friend—and possibly the entire school—depended on it.
