"Katze miaut "

During the road trip, I couldn't stop thinking about him. There was something about him. What was he doing there alone? Isn't he scared being alone? I got snapped out of my thoughts when Gustav spoke.

"Seriously, Yanna, what's gotten into you? Why would you even go there alone?" He looked at me through the rearview mirror.

"It's just strange... I saw a guy-" I got interrupted by Aya.

"You know, Yanna, it's common for guys to go into those kinds of houses. They use them as hideouts and stuff," she said casually.

"How would she suppose to know that? She just got here, remember?" Gustav added, rolling his eyes as he held the steering wheel.

"Oh, I almost forgot, but yeah, that's just it, Yanna. Guys like what you saw earlier must be doing some freaky stuff in there," she shrugged, leaning back in her seat and crossing her arms.

"Why, Yanna? Did he do something to you?" Hale asked, concerned.

"No," I answered.

"Oi! Are you concerned, huh? Don't make it too obvious, yeah?" Aya teased, laughing.

It's true, those things were new to me. It surprised me that people are willing to risk doing things that aren't right just to satisfy themselves, but I can't blame them. Who am I to judge?

"I'm just worried about her," Hale raised an eyebrow, shooting Aya a glare.

"Fine, fine! I'm just playing. Anyway, Yanna, how do you feel about moving here? Is it great? Or what?" Aya asked, looking at me.

Aya is very friendly. I just moved here, and she was the one who approached me and introduced me to the others. I'm glad I met her.

"It's okay. I didn't have a choice anyway. I just hate living with my stepdad and mom, they're too strict, and I don't like it,them controlling me," I said.

"Oh... But don't worry, we'll keep you company, Yanna," Aya reassured me.

I smiled at her as they dropped me off at my house. Time flew by, and I waved at them as they drove away.

"Bye, Yanna!!" Aya screamed as if there were no tomorrow, Gustav waving enthusiastically, and Hale then Georg being more nonchalant, simply nodding.

"Bye! Drive safe," I waved, smiling, before walking inside slowly.

The house was quiet, obviously, as it was already 12:03 AM. I was about to step on the stairs when I heard a familiar voice.

"Yanna, you're late. Didn't I tell you to come home early? Why didn't you listen? You always do this, you don't even text or call!" It was my mom. I turned around and faced her.

"Mom, it's my friend's birthday. We just celebrated with her."

"Hon, Yanna is grown up. She knows what she's doing. Let her be," there he was, my stepdad, acting like a father. But he would never be.
