Fynn's POV

There were hypocrites everywhere in the world. Rotten hypocrites. Their meaning was different from what they said. Too cool to acknowledge their true feelings In fact, I had the entire group of them around me at the moment. The girl next to me was attracted to the way we looked together, not because she liked me. The boy on my right was someone who always aspired to be like me—not my best friend. There were a lot of these wannabe cool folks about me. The only thing that was true in this world of false relationships, friendships, and love was the fire behind her eyes.

Her eyes were so dark they seemed to be like the night sky.You could drown in them since they were so black that they appeared to be a blend of colors. Kate  carried herself with pride, never putting her values on other people, never lied to herself, and never shied away from a challenge. When faced with unfamiliar situations, she chose to learn from them rather than run from them. I could see her resentment of me in those swirling abysses. There were moments when I questioned how I came to be treated this way. I was rewarded with such coldness that it left me dumbfounded, while others received lovely, sincere smiles.

I hated her too because I thought about her all the time and saw nothing but icy indifference in her eyes.

However,
She was the only constant among the group of hypocrites.
