                               Epilogue

Today was Sunday. It was their cleaning day. She looked down at Fynn, who was sleeping soundly on the bed. She blushed upon seeing him in his underwear. It had been two years since they had been married, and one might think she would be used to half-naked Fynn, but not at all. She still blushed around him when he toyed with her, when he spoke sweet nothings into her ear, when he kissed her passionately, and when he made love to her.

Fynn stayed true to his words. They went to different colleges, yet he made time to see her.
He received so many proposals from pretty girls, and he denied them all. He was the one who moved her stuff into her apartment when she first got her job; he was the one who taught her how to drive; and he was the one she called for technical issues. He did all of this without expecting anything in return, without any label. He never brought their closet conversation up because he told her that they would talk when she was ready.

One day, when Fynn had visited her apartment, they decided to treat themselves to ice cream after the walk they took around the neighborhood.

When they sat on the swings in the park, Kate all of a sudden said, "I think I am ready.”

“For what?” he said.

“To date you,"  she said.

Fynn had paused eating his ice cream and looked at her and said, “Don't fuck with me. Are you serious?”

“Yes. Yes, and a thousand times yess," she grinned.

Fynn threw his ice cream on the ground and stood up. He put his arms around her waist and raised her in such a position that his head was at her stomach. He rotated her, and her ice cream too fell on the ground. Both of them laughed like maniacs.

“I can't believe we wasted two good ice creams, you dork. Put me down now," she said.

Her body slid down his own, and he cupped her cheeks. “I will buy you a thousand such ice creams.”

With that, he kissed her fiercely. He kissed her softly at first, and then his kiss became aggressive. When he pulled apart, her lips were swollen, and all of a sudden he hugged her.

“Get married to me.”

The proposal might not be fancy, but nothing ever was fancy with them. He had confessed to her in the janitor's closet, and yet it was perfect. She fell in love with a boy, and she had seen him grow into a man whose love language was action and words of reassurance. Kate was still not perfect, but she had come a long way. Kate had progressed a lot; she had forgiven her parents, and she could only hope that they had forgiven her too. She had learned what it actually meant to be happy for someone else, and boy, was it joyful!

“Yes. Let's get married.”

Well, that day was two years ago.

She tried to wake him up by shaking, and he pulled her down along with him. Then he nuzzled into her neck and said, “5 more minutes, and we will wake up.”

She was powerless when Fynn seduced her like this.

After having breakfast, both of them got down to cleaning the house. As Kate cleaned his DVD's collection with a cloth, she smiled to herself. There was a time when his apartment was bare, but both of them have come a long way since then. They fought with each other at times, but they never went to bed angry. They talked about everything—every little detail of their lives—and laughed together.

While Kate was cleaning the windows, Fynn opened the rubber band that held Kate’s hair in a bun.

“Don't tie them today. Please.”

She just laughed at his antics. He was a grown man who sometimes behaved like a toddler with her.

After they cleaned up the entire house, they showered together because Fynn wouldn't have it any other way. Kate loved it too. He was more gentle with her than she ever could be. They switched on the TV after eating lunch. Her feet were in his lap while he rubbed them.

Out of the blue, Flynn said, “I think all my wishes have come true.”

Kate said, “Mine too.”

Her life was now like a blend of good coffee, warm hugs, and those unexpectedly beautiful sunsets. It was full of magic, and the magic was in the little moments.

Author's note.

Thank you if you have reached till the very end. Thank you for voting, commenting or even if you are a silent reader ;)

My heart is full of gratitude because this is the first story I have completed. I have started so many stories but given up on all of them but I somehow completed this.

I know I could have explained in detail , the struggles the characters face but it was not necessary because I wanted it to be a light read. A glimpse is however shown.

At the same time , if you relate with Kate or Fynn and their difficult times , here's a hug 🫂 for you.

I hope you learn to like yourself more. I hope you learn to appreciate yourself more and as George elliot said , " It's never too late to be the person you want to be ."

All your flaws make you human and recognition of the fact that you are not the best person makes you a better person.

Love , love and only love to you ❤️
