. . . 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐝𝐚𝐲
You got off of your flight feeling weak, back at the same airport where you'd last seen Isagi Yoichi. Your heart raced with anticipation on the drive home, your parents were waiting on you to arrive since they stayed behind on your trip due to business inquiries. You had dealt with Isagi ghosting you pretty well so far. Yes, tears were shed but it was out of your hands. You tried to reach out to him a multitude of times, he eventually ended up blocking you. That's when you knew it was over...no point in being sad about it right? Wrong. Isagi Yoichi was your everything, he saved you from countless hard times and always put his faith in you. This break up hurt you in more ways than one, but you held your head high and coped in healthy ways.
The drive home was extremely long and tiring, you listened to music majority of the way there. "Ehhh, stunna girl? I forgot she was on this playlist." you murmured under your breath as the song was switched. After a few hours of driving you finally arrived home, you stretched your arms and legs in various positions and let out a small sigh before dragging all of your suitcases and duffle bags to the front door, you expected your mother or father to help...but they were probably asleep...it was around 3AM after all. You used your housekey to get inside and the first thing you noticed was how dark the inside of the house was. "That's weird-" you thought to yourself as you dragged one of your suitcases towards the living room.
Your parents usually left the light to their study on or the kitchen light above the stove at least...but it was pitch black. Suddenly the light flickered on and a flurry of confetti was blown into your face. "Welcome back Y/N!!!!" your mother and father shouted happily as they ran circles around you. A wide grin came across your face as they did this...but suddenly a figure emerged from the kitchen, holding your favorite flavor of cake with candles on top. "Welcome back....princess." Isagi...why...was he here? Your eyes widened in shock and you felt a hitch in your throat. He set the cake on the table of the living room before standing there, rubbing the nape of his neck.
After sitting and awkwardly eating cake together with Isagi and your parents, you went back to the front door to start taking your bags upstairs while your parents cleaned up. As strange as it was, Isagi followed behind you, carrying three of your bags to your room for you. He set them gently on the floor, his gaze never left your figure. You stared at him silently and he did the same. "What the hell is going on? I...don't understand." you muttered as your bottom lip began to quiver, it'd been a few weeks since you cried about the breakup...you didn't want to break that streak, and especially not in front of him. "I'll keep it plain and simple, you were a distraction. I didn't need you anymore." he sounded almost proud of what he did. The kind and sweet Isagi Yoichi that you knew was no longer here.
There was a glint of something ominous behind his eyes but you weren't able to understand what it was. He changed completely, the way he stood, the way he spoke, even the way he talked was different. "As far as me being here today...well, your parents insisted that I come because they were unaware of our breakup. I didn't choose to be here." he took a step towards you, but you stepped back as tears swelled up in your eyes. "Sorry I wasn't able to break your heart properly, Y/N. Welcome home." with that...he started to walk off, but you grabbed the sleeve of his shirt. "Please....why? You said you loved me, so why? You really love soccer that much? You'd choose soccer over me?" you trembled as you spoke, but you managed to hold back your sobs.
"In a heartbeat. Soccer is my everything." Isagi said simply before gently yanking his arm away. He was gone, the person that YOU were before...was gone. You laid on the floor of your room in the fetal position crying. You cried until your heart felt empty. That night Isagi went back to Blue Lock, he laid in his bed and stared at the ceiling, contemplating his next training match. Thinking about it was exhilarating, but something was tugging at his heart. "In order to advance...I had to leave her behind. She was slowing me down." Isagi thought to himself before turning over and resting his eyes.
Weeks passed, and your healing era came. Not only did you pick yourself up, but you were able to advance as well. You were more independent, stronger, and smarter. The summer flew by in a breeze, it wasn't easy to forget about Isagi but you understood that he was needed in order for you to mature as an individual. You planned on starting the new year fresh and having a whole new mindset. Things were looking up, and nobody could ever pull you down as far as Isagi did...EVER AGAIN. You laid in bed scrolling on your phone looking at ways you could decorate your uniform without getting dress coded...when suddenly there was a rough knock on the front door outside.

Double upload because I didn't want you guys to wait a week for such a disappointing chapter. I usually spam post chapters during the beginning of my books anyways, so enjoy it while it lasts. There's been a lot of explaining so far, to give you all a good feel of the situation. Dialogue will pick up next chapter, typos were most likely made due to me running off of no sleep.
