As Doctor Alder explained the situation to them, he told them that the healing process for the dragon would take all day. That she would need lots of rest.

Great. Amazing. Spectacular! The Aysgarthians would have to stay.

They'd be able to leave tomorrow at first light, but today, they were Wealdstone's company. Gisaea didn't know how her village would feel about this. Gisaea herself didn't fully trust these Aysgarthians. She hoped the villagers wouldn't blame her for any messes created. She was the one who'd let them enter Wealdstone.

Even so, Gisaea's cabin had an extra room, and she knew no other villager would dare let Aysgarthians into their home.

As they left Doctor Alder's office, Gisaea turned to the boys. "I have no choice but to let you stay in my cabin," She told them, wishing the words weren't true. "We have an extra room. But tomorrow, at first light, you can take your leave,"

The boy with the bright blue eyes smiled at her; something about him different than the one with the eye patch. Eye-patch boy had an aura that was cold, and it chilled her to the bone. Gisaea wasn't entirely sure they were both Aysgarthian. The boy with the blue eyes had more of an Icelander look to him, while the Aysgarthian boy...seemed completely different.

He was tall, lean, and toned—blond hair falling down his face in waves and resting slightly above his shoulders. Underneath his dark Aysgarthian cloak, he wore a long-sleeved knee-length black linen tunic with a fitted dark leather belt tied around his waist. Simple black linen pants shrouded his legs—and dark lace-up shoes with folded cuffs at the ankles cushioned his feet.

Gisaea couldn't deny the fact that he was quite good-looking—even with skin so pale, it appeared as though he'd never witnessed a fraction of daylight in his life.

Laced into his features, there was a particular darkness exclusively owned by those born into the Aysgarthian bloodline. His purple eye, the one without an eyepatch, glimmered darkly as it studied her face.

Shoot. He'd caught her staring. She quickly turned away, her cheeks flaming. Then, the blue-eyed boy came so close that Gisaea backed away a little in surprise. He was shorter than her and didn't seem very intimidating, but Gisaea could already tell he was remarkably straightforward.

"We just wanted to thank you for taking us in. Right, Cyprian?" The boy said, nudging his friend. The boy named Cyprian looked away, avoiding eye contact. The blue-eyed boy rolled his eyes. "Sorry. He's not much of a people person. Anyways, I'm Kaeirin, and this is Cyprian." Kaeirin said, planting his hand on Cyprian's shoulder. Cyprian pulled away in irritation. "And you are...?"

"...I'm Gisaea."

Kaeirin grinned.

"Pleasure to meet you, Gisaea."
