It could have ended that day...

Father figure??

"Were you running from anyone?", George asked while walking back to the car.

"Yep, was running from your potential son-in-law!", Simi said smiling.

"The CEO?? I saw only him coming out the gate.", George halted while asking.

Simi chuckled and nodded. George had a concerned look on his face for a second.

"Well he did confess and got rejected. He is too cutesy and I am not interested in his infamous thing. If you know what I mean, it was a hot topic at work a few months ago.", Simi said waving her hand.

George started walking again and Simi found it hard to keep up with his pace. "Try not get in trouble...I am more scared of how you would react than what other people do to you!", George said holding the car door open for her.

"You want to get injured on my birthday?", Simi asked.

"No honey, I hope we have a good evening for now." George sheepishly smiled.

When they arrived at the restaurant, she was kind of excited yet she felt it was too much.

But then again, on her birthday after the Paris encounter, George almost was about to book a banquet for her birthday celebration. Simi and Leila both presented why it would be illogical and unnecessary.  To which George shifted his plans to make her a cake himself and have her over at dinner with some other people such as Leila, Eddie, Anna, Uncle Sam, Nolan, and Nolan's mother or George's friend Ruby. Uncle Sam was George's colleague and Ruby was his college friend, Simi got to know that day, and she was asked to call her friends so Eddie and Anna were there too.

"Is this okay George?", Simi had asked when everyone left after dinner. George laughed and said, "Sam and Ruby knows about you...and what I see you as. You can chill!"

"I thought you had ulterior motives...but seems like you don't. ", Simi said while packing her bag with the gifts.

"What changed your mind?", George asked, sitting straight up in his couch, suddenly interested.

"You are just an old man in a seductive body. Your actions felt like that of a lunatic at first, but now it feels like you are just like a hopeless father", Simi said picking up her bag.

"So this body was the problem!?", he asked while checking himself out.

"Yes. Totally misleading.", she replied with a straight face.

"Now I seem like a father?", he asked, a bit satisfied.

"Kind of, a young one, yes.", Simi said.

"So when do I get to sign the adoption papers?", George asked with a bright smile.

"Sign what now?"

"You heard that!"

"I am getting a daddy??"

"Well if you want one..."

That was years ago and she remembers how Eddie and Anna reacted to it. Well, now it was like a huge family she has with lots of people coming by at home, a thing she never imagined while staying at the orphanage. When Anna and Eddie met George for the first time Anna asked him,

"So you are like a default insurance she gets, right?"

Eddie sushed her and said, "Mr. Donovan, please take care of our friend...we were each other's support at the orphanage and after we moved out. She really is precious to us."

To which George said, "I can adopt all three of you together, if you are unable to stay without her."

Anna had a jaw-drop moment and Eddie maintained his calm. Then he said, " That was lovely, but we are fine. Anna and I are planning to get married soon. We would love to have you take care of her."
