It Could've Ended That Day

Two days before Nolan's flight, he came to visit Simi and also talk with George. It was a Sunday, so again uncle Cam was there too.

"Oh my goodness... my baby is here!!!", uncle Cam shrieked watching Nolan come in through the door.

"Cam, please. I would like to have some peace this one day at home.", George said, looking disgusted.

"I will appreciate my baby however I want. You can go cook lunch for your girl. Oh Nolan, I am gonna miss you so much.", uncle Cam said, making him sit on the couch.

"Yeah...say that again and I will make sure to cancel the flight, just for you.", he replied.

"Don't you dare pass on that project, you shithead.", Simi said, looking at him with a straight face.

"I wanted to say something that would be considered 18+ but I won't because your dad may kill me. Anyways, hi uncle George!!", he said waving at George.

"Hi.", George replied, without looking up from his frying pan.

"Umm, try a little more dad, he is trying too.", Simi said, sighing.

"I normally talk with him this way. What do you want me to do? Go and hug him?", George asked, with genuine confusion on his face.

"He is right, though.", Nolan said, nodding.

"I mean, he will be moving in after he comes back. So I would like to see a character development.", Simi said, sitting next to Nolan.

George turned back towards the living room, leaned against the counter and said,

"Who's moving in?"

"Me!!", Nolan replied, putting his arm up, with a smile.

"Well, if you pay your share, it's fine. But why move in here?", George asked.

"I can move in??? Really?? You are okay with me???", Nolan almost stood up in excitement.

"Woaahh....can that be the character development you were talking about, Simi??", uncle Cam asked.

"No, but this is good too...", she said, concerned with the sudden acceptance at one go, herself.

"What about your apartment then?", George asked.

"Well I initially wanted to move in with mom, but her new boyfriend will be moving in with her. I don't want to intrude. She seems kind of fixated on this new one. Never saw her like this. Considering that I don't know how she was with dad before I was born, I am liking her being so gleeful now. I want her to have that space. Also, I have my own person, now.", he said, and leaned his head back on Simi's shoulder.

"It's okay, the more the merrier. I mean it could have ended that day, when I first met Simi. But since we met again and all this happened, Simi got a family that she loves. I got people again in my life. I am thankful for all this.", George said and went back to his frying pan.

"I think I might cry...", uncle Cam said and quickly went to George and gave him a side hug, enough to make George cringe and push him away.

"I guess we are finally in it for life, woman.", Nolan said to Simi, smirking.

"Yes, sir. Finally my men are in good terms with each other.", she said leaning back on the couch.

"Really. Thank God it didn't end that day...you don't understand how happy I feel right now.....", saying this, Nolan sprawled on the couch and lied down on Simi's lap, his arms spread out on both sides.

"See George, if you did not get so sulky, then we would have seen this two like this for a bit longer.", uncle Cam said, edging George to look at them.
