The next morning George left for work with a consistent frown on his face and Simi felt uncomfortable. Uncle Cam reassured her saying he needs a bit of time which Simi could not reason as to why he needed time and for what.
Later Simi got a text message from George before lunch, "Come down during break. I will be waiting."
Simi put her phone down and dropped her head on the table. Exactly how her dad can be a pain sometimes because of his emotions overflowing. Nonetheless, he was a good father. Not that she knew what a "good father" is, but she never cried or felt sad since he took her in.
When she went down to meet him, he saw her standing with a mini bouquet of hydrangea in the lobby. "Damn! That's adorable!", she said while walking towards him.
George turned to look at her and smiled, shrugging. "Well, sorry I acted up a bit. But I trust you. And Nolan said you like miniature things, which, I don't know why you didn't tell me, but here you go.", he said.
"Thanks. Nolan does know a lot of things. But we predicted you acting up. So you can chill.", she replied, inspecting the flowers.
"How come you tell him things and not me? Am I not like a friend? Was I being too much like a father. Goodness, I didn't think of that...I just-"
"Please", she interrupted George, "You don't get it. It's not like that. He asked once so I told him. Even Eddie and Anna doesn't know about this."
George made a "So I lost to Nolan?" face and was about to say something when she shook the bouquet in front of his face and said,
"Listen, we are not "dating" dating, I am not into those things that deeply. It's like a platonic thing for me...but he might have deeper feelings for me. It's just what he wants and he's gonna do it in a way that is comfortable for me. So we get to stop it if we both feel weird. So he won't hurt me and we will still stay friends. And I won't be moving out as well...because I heard that's another thing bothering you."
"I would prefer to strangle Cam one day. I told him not to tell you. But that's fine. At least we clarified. You see, you dating is not the problem, I know what you are capable of and I trust you with your decisions. I was just wondering, why Nolan?", he said, shrugging.
"Well maybe because he knows, he understands and it's easier with him. It's not like I need anyone particularly, I have you, Eddie, Anna, Elena and Han as well. But it's about him too. I make him happy, so I will try to keep him happy...till I can.", she ended, and smiled at George.
"Well then, whatever you do, I will always be there. So even if something unexpected happens. You will have me, always.", he said, with a smile, ruffling her hair.
"You guys keep ruffling my hair, I hate it. Should I shave it off?", she ducked her head when George motioned to ruffled it once again.
"You guys? Now who else does this to you apart from me?", George frowned.
"Not telling. I will now get back to work. Thank you for the flowers, dad!", she said and started walking away.
"Oh you will tell me, when you get back home. Have a good day.", George said with a smirk.
"Disgusting!", Simi mouthed before turning away from him.
That night George brought home a new latest PSP model that Simi had been hoping to buy herself for her birthday. When she about to ask why he bought that, George held it up away from her and said,
"Who ruffles your hair, apart from me?"
"Ewww, George, that was so cringe. Oh my God! Why would you say it like that?", she said stepping back from him, placing her left palm on her chest as if her heart was about to fall out from her body.
