"Canny," Ahyeon called softly. It was Two in the morning, and they had to get up.

"Hmm," Chiquita groaned, not wanting to wake up.

"Come on, Canny," Ahyeon called, shaking Chiquita.

"Noooooo," Chiquita groaned again, before turning around.

"Well, you made me do this," Ahyeon said before hugging Chiquita tight. Chiquita turned over and over again, but Ahyeon didn't let go.

"Fine," Chiquita laughed. Ahyeon laughed with her.

"Let's go, we have to finish the song we're making, remember?" Ahyeon said, pulling Chiquita's arm.

"Yeah, coming," Chiquita said before she collapsed on the floor. Ahyeon sighed.

"What am I supposed to do with you, Canny," Ahyeon sighed again, before literally dragging Chiquita off the floor.

"Thank you for finally waking up," Ahyeon said, earning a nod and an eye-roll from Chiquita.

"Let's just get started, unnie," Chiquita yawned, Ahyeon nodding in reply.

The practice room was still and quiet, the lights were dimmed. The walls, covered with posters of the group and inspirational quotes. A digital clock on the wall read 2:06 a.m., but for Ahyeon and Chiquita, the night was just getting started.

Late nights in the practice room had become a ritual for them. They would get up when the rest of the members were asleep, and start working. Night was their time to think, dream, and create without the distractions of the day. Tonight was no different.

Ahyeon sat cross legged on the floor, her back resting against the wall. Her laptop was laying open on the ground. She dresses comfy tonight. Sweatpants and an oversized hoodie, with her hair tied up in a messy bun. Her eyes were focused on the screen as she clicked through different tracks, searching for the perfect beat.

Chiquita was perched on a stool in a corner of the room, with her piano in front of her. She played the keys softly, testing out different notes and melodies. She wore a simple t-shirt and jeans, her feet tapping along to the rhythm she was creating.

"Hey, Chiquita, how does this sound?" Ahyeon asked. She pressed play, and a smooth, beautiful beat filled the room.

"I like it! It's got a nice groove. I'll play as well," Chiquita said, motioning to the piano in front of her.

Ahyeon nodded, making adjustments on her laptop. The beat continued to play as Chiquita played each key, blending the melody with the track. They appreciated the fact that both sounds fit perfectly together, and that it was sounding amazing.

Their musical styles complemented each other perfectly, with Ahyeon's production and Chiquita's melodies and ideas. They communicated through music, and often understand each other without needing to speak.

"That's it! I think we've found the base for our new song," Ahyeon said, smiling at Chiquita.

"Yeah, it's really coming together. Let's add some lyrics now," Chiquita smiled back softly.

Ahyeon pulled a notebook from her bag, and flipped through pages filled with scribbled ideas and half-written verses. She handed it to Chiquita, who scanned the pages, humming softly as she read.

"What about these lines? They have a nice flow," Chiquita asked, pointing at one of the verses.

"Perfect. Let's try singing them," Ahyeon said, wearing a proud smile on her face. Chiquita laughed softly at the look of her face.

They moved closer to the microphone set up in the corner of the room. Ahyeon adjusted the settings while Chiquita played her piano. The soft glow of Ahyeon's laptop cast a warm light on their faces as they prepared to record.

As the night grew darker, their music filled the practice room. The lyrics they crafted told a story of dreams and friendship, echoing the bond they shared. Ahyeon's clear, confident voice blended beautifully with Chiquita's, creating a melody that was uniquely their own.

"This feels like the start of something special," Ahyeon said, after they finished.

"Yeah, I think we're onto something. Let's keep going," Chiquita said, looking up at Ahyeon after finishing her verse on the piano

Hours passed, but neither of them felt tired. Their focus took over them, and turned the practice room into a sanctuary of sound and emotion. The clock in the room continued to click, but for them, the time never moved as they enjoyed.

In the heart of the practice room, surrounded by each and every melody, Ahyeon and Chiquita found more than just a song. They found a piece of themselves, a side they haven't seen before. And as the sun began to peek through, their bond developed.

A Melody Born Under The Stars.
