28. Love to hate?

SARAH's POV

The question Christian asked is very crucial to him. His eyes are looking for answer in mine. His eyes are filled with terror I have never seen before.

"I....." I choke on my answer.

"Give me the damnnnn answer Sarahhh" I look at him with shock because I have never heard him screaming or yelling. He is impatient for the answer.

"I DID NOT kill him" I said and he took breath so deep, it felt like he came back after he died.

"I came here 6months ago. When I learned everything about you and your family. How you left them for your daughter and how you are living a very normal life away from all this. I wanted to punish you for the sins of your brother because he was killed in an attack and I wanted to be the one who killed him. I wanted to destroy you, your family and specially Elena because I could not bear the death of my sister. And the only way to get inside your house was to be with you. I had planeed everything and was executing it properly but then...."

"But what?" He asks in a hushed tone of being betrayed. I can sense the disappointment in the air. I don't deserve him.

"I fell in love with you Christian. I thought my heart stopped beating the day my sister died. When I first met you when you lost Blue, I somehow was unable to hate you. But I was very strong willed to destroy your family. I was alone with you so many times and had every chance to kill you right then but I couldn't."

"So you waited for me to fall in love with you and kill me today with just your words. I thought the mafia world is merciless but now I realize that love is the most merciless thing in this world."

"No...no...no. Christian I loved you from my heart but the guilt of leaving my sister's revenge was too powerful. I always planned that tomorrow will be your last day but then....then I looked at Blue. How she will be all alone without you in this cruel world. I am a daughter and I cannot imagine my life without my father. And she is a baby...as merciless as I want to be that baby girl did nothing to deserve this. Then we came here....after your dad convinced you and I met Elena. As much as I wanted to hate her I couldn't she was so alone and raising her 2 kids without the support of their father. I talked to her and she told me that Liam had always loved her since they were young and it broke my heart to realize how your brother made 2 women fall in love with him and broke both of them inside out. I told my father everything and he said to me..'if you love him keep him with you. Because if you stumble on true love cherish it. And your sister died because of his brother and not him. He has been away from his family for a long time and has nothing to do with it. Your sister was not able to complete her love story but if you complete yours she will rest in peace....'"

"And since then, I loved you with all my heart. I wanted to tell you all this by myself but I never gathered the courage to do so. I am really sorry Christian but I love you "

I knew I lost him and I knew we will never be normal but this day was inevitable. Atleast the truth is out and I can breathe and love him without being guilty for hiding it from him.

"Say something Christian "

"Before I do something that might kill you take your stuff and leave us alone. Never in your life look in my family's direction. If you ever loved me.....stay away from me. And thanks for making me beleive again that this mafia world is the cruelest and of all the people...the woman I thought was the love of my life stabbed me in the back. "

"Christian please"

"I'll send the signed divorce papers. Please leave Miss. CALISTA"

And he left!!!! My love left me. My Christian isn't mine anymore. Tears pool in my eyes and my heart cries loud and shatters into pieces. I broke his heart and I deserve every ounce of pain there is.

After what felt like an eternity I move. I want to hold my baby my Blue one last time. I want to caress her one last time. I want to hear her laugh one last time. I slowly move to her room but my steps come to a halt when I hear Christian playing with her. I manage to open the door and Christian's dead cold eyes meet mine.

"I wanted to see her one last time "

"Leave. You lost every chance to come near her CALISTA."

"Please" I cry

"Get out." And he slams the door shut on my face.

I turn around and leave the father daughter who were my husband and my daughter alone. Forever!!!! I am no one to them now. I run to my car and leave the mansion forever!! The most beautiful part of my life is over. My baby and my husband are not mine anymore.
